Surprising Verdict: Aussie TikTok Star Rates Australian vs. American Beer

TikToker Jesse ‘Sunset’ Willesee has shared his verdict on Australian versus American beer.

The social media star, whose mother is American and father is respected Australian journalist Terry Willesee, took to Instagram to compare two popular ales.

In the video, he sampled Aussie favourite Great Northern’s Super Crisp and American classic Coors Light on a sunny back deck.

‘These are two beers that I love, but let’s see which one is best,’ he said, before tasting each one.

He said Coors Light was ‘crisp, refreshing, watery, but a very easy-drinking beer,’ then gave each beer a 9 out of 10: ‘I just couldn’t do it to either of them.’

Jesse also recently shared a hilarious video showing the reaction his American friends had to the Australian five dollar note.

Willesee showed his friends in the USA what the pink bill looks like and faced mixed reactions.

Some thought it looked ‘cool’ while another commented that it looked ‘fake’, but most questioned why Queen Elizabeth II was printed on it.

The first woman he showed spread it out beneath a light and said it looked ‘insane’.

‘It literally does look fake as f**k. It’s literally plastic. You guys make your s**t out of plastic,’ she said.

Another gentleman looked at it out in the sunlight and seemed to enjoy the colour and unique Aussie design, pointing out the Prickly Moses wattle.

He also attempted to crumple and tear the note, and was left impressed by its hardiness.

‘That would be very hard to counterfeit, huh? I dig it. I don’t know if you want Queen Elizabeth on there anymore. It seems a little bit dated,’ he said.

The last man also seemed confused by the ‘plastic’ note and as to why the Queen was on the note, saying: ‘Surely you should have the King on it now. She [Queen Elizabeth II] died.’

Australians flocked to the comments of the TikTok video to defend the national currency.

One person wrote: ‘Funny how the two dudes comment how the Queen shouldn’t be on it because she’s dead. Bro, George Washington has been dead for 224 years.’

Someone else said: ‘It’s not plastic it’s polymer and the security features in that are world class.’

‘Better than paper money that gets destroyed in the washing machine,’ a third added.
