Hollywood action veteran Steven Seagal - who starred in the '90s movies Under Siege and Hard To Kill - has been seen for the first time in nine months.

The 74-year-old actor was spotted at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in Saint Petersburg, Russia on Thursday.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is an annual Russian business event for the economic sector, which has been held in St. Petersburg since 1997.

Seagal was listed as a 'participant' in a panel on culture.

The actor has drifted into politics in the last decade and has become a staunch supporter of Russian President Vladimir .

Despite being born in  in the United States, Seagal was granted Russian citizenship by Putin in 2014 and given a Russian passport.

The actor has been living in Russia since 2016.

Seagal was  

Seagal has been a vocal supporter of the Kremlin, . 

In 2023,  awarded Seagal the Russian state Order of Friendship for his international humanitarian and cultural work.

Seagal, who also has Serbian citizenship, was welcomed by the country's President Aleksandar Vucic in September 2025 to 'strengthen cultural and artistic co-operation' with the wider world.

President Vucic then extended the invite to Seagal for the march, where columns of troops thumped through the New Belgrade district of the city as crowds waved national flags and aircraft roared overhead.

The display of military strength, which included about 10,000 troops, was trumpeted by the Serbian President as an example of his country's ability to defend its independence.

Seagal was born in Lansing, Michigan, but at age five his family moved to Fullerton, California where he went to high school and college.

He studied martial arts and claimed that he helped train CIA agents in Japan though there is no evidence that Seagal has ever worked with the agency.

At the height of his career, Seagal was one of the biggest action movie stars in the world, and one of the most successful martial arts actors of the 1980s and 1990s.

Seagal first worked in Hollywood as a fight coordinator on 1982's The Challenge and the 1983 James Bond movie Never Say Never Again.

Seagal starred in 1988's Above The Law then was in 1990's Hard To Kill, 1990's Marked for Death, and 1991's Out for Justice. They were all box-office hits.

Seagal directed and starred in On Deadly Ground (1994), with Billy Bob Thornton then he did a sequel to Under Siege, titled Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995).

In 1996, Seagal had a role in the Kurt Russell film Executive Decision, then was in The Glimmer Man (1996) and Fire Down Below (1997).

In 1998, Seagal made The Patriot and in 2001 he had success with his film Exit Wounds.

He appeared in over a dozen movies after that like The Foreigner (2003), Into The Sun (2005), The Keeper (2009), and Machete (2010). He was in the series True Justice from 2010 until 2012.

He also had roles in Force of Execution (2013), Absolution (2015) and Code Of Honor (2016). He was also in 2018's Attrition and 2019's General Commander. His last film was Beyond The Law in 2019.

Seagal has several children with several different women. 

His first wife was Miyako Fujitani, with whom he had a son, actor and model Kentaro Seagal, and a daughter, writer and actress Ayako Fujitani.

He was briefly married to actress Adrienne La Russa in 1984, but that marriage was annulled the same year. 

Seagal and Kelly LeBrock had a daughter named Annaliza in early 1987 then we. In 1990 they welcomed son Dominic and in 1993 they had daughter Arissa. In 1994 LeBrock filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.

Seagal met Mongolian native Erdenetuya Batsukh in 2001 and they got married in 2009; they have one son together, Kunzang.
