Signs of Trouble for MAFS Couple Jeff and Rhi

For months, Jeff Gobbels and Rhi Disljenkovic looked like they had beaten the infamous Married At First Sight curse.

But despite presenting a united front publicly, the couple have now reportedly split after a difficult few weeks that saw them quietly drift apart. 

Sources claim the pair had already been 'living apart for weeks' before deciding to end the relationship for good.

A friend alleged the romance fizzled after Jeff stopped making an effort in the relationship.

'Jeff was not putting in any effort with Rhi. They stopped going out on dates,' the insider claimed, before adding that the breakup was not explosive and the pair still care deeply for one another.

The signs of trouble had also started spilling onto social media. 

The pair, who were last seen together online in March, have unfollowed each other on Instagram, with Rhi reportedly unliking Jeff's recent posts and removing tags from photos of the pair.

Jeff has also deleted several pinned couple photos from his own account.

In another telling clue, Rhi shared a post to Instagram just one week ago listing the small things that had 'changed her life'.

One line in particular caught attention: 'Choosing relationships that feel calm and safe. Not confusing inconsistency or mixed signals for love.'

Meanwhile, online critics have speculated that the couple's relationship was never genuine in the first place, and that they kept the facade of romance going to maintain their joint brand deals.  

'Maybe their contractual obligations were over. Pretty sure they kept up the act for their publicity,' one user theorised on Reddit. 

'Funny it came very close to 12 months after their season finished. Almost like they had an year long contract or something??' someone else wrote.

'This relationship was strictly PR. And I have to agree… it was all too coincidental for my liking,' yet another agreed. 

Jeff and Rhi first met in 2023 and dated for a month - before their relationship fizzled out. 

The couple were caught by surprise when they found themselves paired on Channel Nine's ratings juggernaut in 2025.

In January 2025, Rhi broke her silence about the shocking moment she came face–to–face with her groom – only to realise he was an ex. 

'It was surreal. You sign up for an experiment where you're marrying a stranger. And then... I married someone who I'd already dated! A pretty crazy experience,' Rhi began.

Rhi's overwhelming surprise was crystal clear when she walked down the aisle, and immediately recognised Jeff.

'I think the look on my face and me stopping at the end of the aisle says it all,' she added. 

'I remember thinking, 'How is this going to work?' 

'That was what made me stop... I was shocked to see him standing there!' she said.
