And while most were blindsided by the breakdown of their seemingly strong marriage, a glance at their online footprint and previous interviews reveals there have been signs of trouble in paradise for years.
Most recently, their social media posts have been entirely absent of one another, with both Api and Celeste sharing their last photo together in early November.
The Aussie star had just wrapped the US leg of her Backup Dancer tour with Api tagging along for the ride, sharing loved-up posts about their trip together.
Celeste kicked off the tour in late October, with footage showing Api joining her backstage and expressing his pride over her blossoming career.

But their final post together came in the first days of November when the US tour came to an end and the couple jetted back home to Australia.

Celeste shared a reel of photos and videos from the trip on November 1, showing the pair looking happier than ever as they attended events and cuddled on a train.
The following day, Api shared a similar post that appeared to be even more loved-up as he said he was 'so proud' of his wife.
For an extra touch of whimsy, he added the song Walking On A Dream by Empire of The Sun to the post.

Since then, neither have mentioned each other on their social media accounts, with Api even changing his bio from 'hot husband' to 'formerly hot husband'.
Christmas and New Years came and went without the pair sharing their usual heart-warming celebrations and tributes to one another - an unusual move given how frequently they share their married lives online.
It seemed Valentine's Day would be the telling moment, with eagle-eyed followers holding their breath to see if Celeste and Api would reaffirm their love for each other.
However, Api swooped in at the last minute, beating Saint Valentine to the punch as he revealed on February 13 he and Celeste had split.

Cracks also started to appear in their relationship in 2020 during the Covid lockdowns when Celeste admitted she feared their marriage was done for.
Appearing on British actress and activist Jameela Jamil's iWeigh podcast, the online personality said the coronavirus pandemic put a strain on their relationship.
Celeste claimed the lockdown periods changed the couple's dynamic as they had become good at 'missing each other' and rarely spent their time together.
'It was and still is hard... With lockdown, he's here at all times. There's two f***ing bulls in the house,' the actress laughed.
Celeste told her famous friend she was very careful and selective about what she posts and shares about her marriage and family online.

'Most of the time it can be not f***ing pretty - marriage is hard,' she honestly expressed.
Celeste said there was one 'massive and intense fight' they had in lockdown where she thought the pair 'were done', but luckily Api put things in perspective.
'We are very lucky, we just absolutely love each other,' she said.
Celeste previously revealed the Covid lockdowns put such a huge strain on their relationship that she feared they were done for
'Api said it [their tensions] was because of the pandemic, it's not normal for us to be spending this much time together. It was so good that he said that.'

Celeste then told listeners when she is having a fight with Api she thinks how sad she would be if he was dead and she snaps out of it.
She also turned to treadmill workouts and screaming into pillows after fights.
Celeste has since disappeared offline following her split from Api, and has yet to release a statement addressing their separation.
Her last post was on February 8 as she boasted about her gig hosting at the AACTA Awards and shared photos of herself having fun with her celebrity friends backstage.
Api was notably absent from the images.

The expert arborist and business owner announced their split last week, sharing the sad news to Instagram the night before Valentine's Day.
'The past few months have been incredibly challenging and deeply heartbreaking for us both,' his post captioned 'Heavy hearts' began.
Api confirmed their split last week after he changed his Instagram profile description to 'Formerly Hot Husband'
'After much reflection, the decision has been made to separate.
'There is still love and respect between us, but sadly we are at capacity and have come to recognise we may want for different things.

'Our priority remains our children and their wellbeing. We kindly ask for privacy and understanding as we navigate this.'
Celeste was 21 and working as a bartender at a Sydney pub when she met Api in 2006, with the pair tying the knot in Bali seven years later.
When they met, Api had two daughters, Sahra and Kyah, then aged two and four, from a previous marriage.
Celeste and Api now also share two sons named Lou, 14, and Buddy, 11, and have lived in Tweed Heads for the last six years.
Last April, they sold their previous home on the NSW Central Coast for $1.045 million, which they had bought for $565,000 11 years earlier.
