Hollywood legend Shirley MacLaine was pictured enjoying a sunny outing in Malibu over the weekend.

The Terms of Endearment star, 91, made a rare public appearance while grabbing lunch on Saturday, ahead of her birthday on April 24.

While leaving a Malibu eatery, the Oscar winner was seen getting assistance from an aide, as she leaned on his arm to steady herself.

MacLaine opted for comfort, wearing a cozy brown cardigan over a matching t-shirt and grey sweatpants.

She was while having a bite to eat at celebrity hotspot Nobu.

The actress, who is the older sister of fellow Hollywood icon Warren Beatty, 89, has largely stayed out of the public eye in recent years.

MacLaine has previously spoken candidly about the habits she credits for her longevity, including decades of dance training that began when she was just three years old.

'I started my dance training at age three and stopped at about 67. It taught me discipline, loving music, working with people and dealing with pain,’ she previously told People. The veteran star has also made it clear she has no intention of slowing down completely.

In recent interviews, MacLaine has expressed gratitude for her health, her friendships and the ability to keep working well into her nineties (seen in 2025)

MacLaine won her first and only acting Oscar for 1983 Terms Of Endearment; seen in 1984 with co-star Jack Nicholson, who also won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor

The star made her debut in Alfred Hitchcock's black comedy The Trouble With Harry (1955) and went on to star in numerous classics, including Billy Wilder's 1960 romantic comedy The Apartment (pictured, with Jack Lemmon)

The hit film also won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Nicholson. Some of her later performances include Bewitched (2005), Bernie (2011) and The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty (2013).

Although Shirley's pace has slowed somewhat in recent years, she still averages about a film or TV role per year.

Her most recent appearances were a two-episode guest arc on the acclaimed comedy Only Murders In The Building from 2022, and in 2025 she starred in American Dreamers with Peter Dinklage, though the film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2022.

While speaking to Extra in 2024, Shirley revealed her surprising plans for her 90th birthday. Rather than having a big blowout, she said she would be 'be on a set' in Atlantic City working on a new project.

That work ethic has kept her active in Hollywood for nearly seven decades, but she admitted that things just aren't like they used to be.

'The glamour’s gone out a bit, I’m afraid,' she said of Hollywood and the changes that the rise of streaming services has wrought on it while speaking with Extra. 'I think it’s entirely different.'
