Sebastian Stan reminisced about falling in love for the first time during his time on Gossip Girl.
The actor, 42, reflected on his first ‘serious’ romance in a new interview with Variety, admitting it took place during his time on the hit CW series.
‘It was the first time I was in serious love with somebody. Walking around the city, seeing these same buildings and streets — life seemed simpler.’
While not naming names, the actor dated his Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester, 38, from 2008 to 2010.
The actor — who also spoke about portraying Donald Trump in his upcoming film — played Carter Baizen on Gossip Girl, and appeared in 11 episodes from 2007-2010.

Meanwhile Leighton played Blair Waldorf – a privileged socialite known for her stylish outfits and sharp wit.
Though he seldom speaks about his relationships, he previously raved about Meester while they were dating.
‘She’s the most interesting, sophisticated, talented and an extremely funny person that I know. She’s really hilarious,’ he said of her in 2009.
The pair split up in 2010.
At the time Leighton told Seventeen magazine: ‘I’ve only had one experience where it was really hard and I was really sad when it ended, but that’s what taught me a lot about myself and love and life — and that’s good.’
Meester went on to marry her current husband Adam Brody, 44, in 2014.
The two share 7-year-daughter Arlo Day and a son who was born in 2020.
Meanwhile Stan has been linked to Malignant actress Annabelle Wallis, 40, since 2022.

Elsewhere in the interview he reflected on portraying Trump in his upcoming movie, The Apprentice.
He shared that he did a lot of research and put on a significant amount of weight.
‘I had 130 videos on his physicality on my phone,’ he stated. ‘And 562 videos that I had pulled with pictures from different time periods — from the ’70s all the way to today — so I could pull out his speech patterns and try to improvise like him.’
He said director Ali Abbasi encouraged improvisation, which meant even more research.

‘Ali could come in on the second take and say, “Why don’t you talk a little bit about the taxes and how you don’t want to pay?” So I had to know what charities they were going to in 1983. Every night I would go home and try not only to prepare for the day that was coming, but also to prepare for where Ali was going to take this.’
Stan also revealed he put on 15 pounds for the role.
‘You’d be surprised. You can gain a lot of weight in two months.’
The Apprentice is set to be released in theaters on October 11.
