Sam Mac Strips Live on Sunrise!

Sam Mac stunned Channel Seven viewers on Thursday when he spared all modesty and stripped naked during a live cross from Kyoto, Japan.

The notoriously cheeky weatherman was seen slipping out of a robe and baring his bottom before stepping into an onsen - a traditional heated bath.

Sam, 43, took part in the hot spring dip alongside three other men, who braved the freezing weather.  

'It's great for your skin. It's great for relaxation, great for your body,' Sam told viewers, before adding, 'But it's customary in Japan to do it completely naked. Completely nude.'

Known for his naughty sense of humour, Sam continued with his introduction, before taking his dip: 'But some things are universal, right? Like nudity. So that's exciting for everyone. So we're going to get in the onsen in just a moment.'

He then pointed to the roof of the onsen which was covered in snow and explained: 'It's very cold here, minus one.'

He then bared all, which sent the Brekkie Central team, including Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington, into fits of laughter.

After making his way to the edge of the spring, all the while hiding his nether regions from the camera, Sam then made a raunchy joke:  

'When I was outside it was an inner - and I'm not talking about my belly button - but I think we should cut back to you guys before you see my chopsticks.

A censored clip, which used a filter to obscure Sam's bottom, was later shared to Instagram - and met with an enthusiastic response.

'That was hilarious,' wrote one viewer, who added: 'Glad I got to see the unedited version this morning. Bloody hilarious,' while another joked, 'Very educational.'

A third fan added: 'Very good camera work from the person who saved your dignity.'

Sam has been in Japan for Sunrise as part of a paid sponsorship with online travel agency Tripadeal. 

It comes after Sam surprised his fans last year when he announced he was heading south.

The fan favourite took to Instagram last September to reveal that he and his young family would be moving to Melbourne.

Sam is engaged to fiancée Rebecca James and the couple share two children – Margot, three, and Mabel, one.

The affable Seven star shared a series of images documenting hallmark events of the couple's five years together.

'Our little family is moving from Sydney to Melbourne. Here's why,' Sam wrote over a loved-up photo of him and Rebecca together.

Sam went on to reveal that a major reason for the move was so that their daughters Margot and Mabel could be closer to Rebecca’s mum and dad.

Sam and Rebecca welcomed their first daughter Margot in September 2022, two years after they started dating.

Announcing the joyous news at the time, Sam wrote: 'This is a love I never even knew existed. I'm overwhelmed and still processing it all right now. My girls. Wow.'

Just over a year later, Sam announced his engagement to Rebecca with a sweet Instagram post back in December 2023.

He shared a photo of Rebecca flashing her diamond engagement ring with the caption: 'Ladies and gentlemen, my fiancé! She said yes.'

The couple then welcomed their second daughter, Mabel, in August 2024.
