Unpacking the rumours

Lower North Shore businessman Angus Kennard, the silver fox heir to a third-generation storage empire, has shut down rumours he and his wife Angela have separated amid the sale of their luxury waterfront home.

This week a neighbour on the wealthy Wonga Street enclave in well-heeled Cremorne told me the street was abuzz with whispers that the well-known couple were in the midst of a separation, which prompted the sale of their six-bedroom trophy home.

'The reason why we're selling is because the kids are sort of all finished school, sort of moved out of home, and I'm spending a fair bit of time in the US, for work,' the former Kennards Hire CEO told me.

'I've got a software business called Inauro, so actually I'm in at the moment on my way to the US, so we're not around to enjoy it.'

The waterfront mansion includes a pool, boatshed, and private mooring

The couple set the suburb record in 2018, splashing $18 million for the waterfront mansion that includes a pool, boatshed, and private mooring.

Sweet revenge

Eastern suburbs hair queen Mariah Rota, who tends to the tresses of the Who's Who of 's east, has sold Cole Hair Double Bay salon for an undisclosed sum to longtime team member and celebrity stylist Frankie Endersbee.

Endersbee, who has clocked four years at the salon, is no small-time successor. The globetrotting stylist has worked internationally, styling at , and counts The Veronicas and among her clients.

Rota will retain Cole Hair Mosman while pivoting to her next act: a push into the lucrative hair extension space, spanning distribution and education.

While Rota herself has largely avoided being the headline act in Double Bay's soap opera, she has certainly had a front-row seat.

Her former boss, Joh Bailey, became, shall we say, highly spirited at her 2017 Bali wedding to now ex-husband Tom Cole.

Bailey, his partner and another young male companion were asked to leave the intimate 40-guest ceremony after arriving 90 minutes late in an excessively boisterous mood, with Bailey lighting a cigarette as the bride walked down the aisle.

Mariah Rota (pictured with longtime business partner Jordan Crugnale) has sold her Double Bay hair salon for an undisclosed sum

Kristin Fisher famously had an affair with Tom Cole who ran Cole hair with his then-wife Mariah

Pretty ironic now that Rota's walking away with a massive windfall while Fisher has to contend with paying off that $100,000 tax bill
