Rylan has joked mum Linda Clark is convinced he’s engaged to pal Rob Rinder after the pair grew close while filming their BBC travel show.
The former X Factor star, 35, and barrister, 46, travelled Italy in Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour earlier this year and even admitted their friendship was ‘growing into love’.
But despite the duo denying rumours they were dating, the TV host says his mother, who appears with him on Celebrity Gogglebox, is unconvinced.
On Friday they were reunited when Rylan appeared as a guest ITV’s Lorraine while Rob co-hosted GMB with Kate Garraway.
During the handover between shows Kate poked fun at rumours and introduced Rylan as Rob’s ‘friend and not fiancé’.

As Rylan quipped: ‘From your mouth to my mum’s ears!’.
Recalling how his and Rob’s friendship blossomed during filming, Rylan previously said during an appearance on This Morning: ‘In Venice we stayed in separate accommodation.
‘Then in Florence it is the same accommodation but separate rooms and by Rome I am waking up with him on top of me like “Get off me barrister!”‘
He added: ‘We started this process as mates and we’ve finished it as actual genuine friends and that’s probably one of the best things to come out of it.’
During the interview with Lorraine guest host Ranvir Singh on Friday he spoke about his secret return to music after being a ‘joke act’ on the X Factor way back in 2012.
Saying: ‘When I first started, I was put in that stereotype box, the joke act, the gay one, and listen thats how it works’.
Teasing it was a dance or house record he said: ‘It did well and that’s as much as I am saying, nobody knows it’s me’
While refusing to reveal what song his voice can be heard, Rylan admitted he wanted to prove his true talent as a singer.

When their Rylan posted a message urging viewers to tune in, saying, ‘This man has become family to me’.
In response, Rob, famous for his Judge Rinder TV show, posted cryptically, ‘Friendship may and often does grow into love.’
Rob admitted at the BAFTAs he’d developed a deep bond with the Radio 2 host, describing him as the ‘real deal’ but insisted they are not in a romantic relationship.
‘We aren’t a couple. It is what Rylan said, we are like a very old married couple, we row, laugh together and don’t have sex’, he said.
The travel show also saw Rylan admitting to his friend that he ‘tried to end it all’ amid his marriage breakdown as the pair emotionally opened up about their divorces.
One scene shows the two having a sunny drink in Venice as they discuss the ends of their relationships – with Rob breaking down over Rylan’s heartbreaking story.
Having both endured painful divorces, they were ready to embrace the next chapter in their lives by throwing themselves into experiences outside their comfort zones.

Rob hinted at romance with Rylan while plugging the duo’s new BBC Two travel show
Rylan – whose marriage to husband Dan Neal ended in 2021 after six years – was first to discuss his mental health problems amid the split.
He told Rob: ‘I think it was a culmination of my marriage breaking down and actually me stopping for the first time in 10 years.
‘Then, all of a sudden, I hit quite a big speed bump instead of carrying on, I just sunk.
‘It was the worst experience of my life. I just went on a downward spiral. I tried to end it, I tried to finish myself off.
‘I didn’t eat, I went down to 9st. I’m 6ft 4 Rob, like I look[ed] horrendous.’
Rob then opened up on his own divorce as he also started to get emotional. He and his ex-husband, barrister Seth Cumming, divorced in 2018
He said: ‘I was once so in love when I was in my early twenties, but it wasn’t reciprocated. And it never has been.’
Rob then dashed over to the Lorraine studio to catch up with his buddy

Rylan consoled his co-star as they sought comfort in their shared life experiences.
He said: ‘Do you know what, Rob? We’re here once, we’ve been through quite a lot of stuff.’
‘What’s it taught us? Nothing’s forever unless its right,’ as Rob wiped away his tears.
Rylan then said that he’s absolutely determined to move on: ‘This trip for me is part of my restart in life.
‘I’m 34 and I’m young enough to start again, when it comes down to my personal life.’
He added: ‘I’ve got no limits now, nothing phases me. I’m willing to try anything or anyone.’
