Roxy Shahidi and Lou Sanders shockingly eliminated in Dancing On Ice double exit

Dancing On Ice’s Roxy Shahidi and Lou Sanders were the latest stars to leave the series on Sunday night after a shock double elimination.

In a first for the skating show, the lowest placed couple went straight out of the competition, whilst two others faced the skate off.

After finding herself in the bottom three, Emmerdale’s Roxy Shahidi and her dance partner Sylvain Longchambon were the couple that received the lowest scores and automatically eliminated from the show.

Finding out the news that she would be leaving, host Holly Willougby said: ‘It’s such a brutal way to go out like this. I’m gutted for you.’

Speaking after being voted off, Roxy – who previously sprained her shoulder during training – said she was disappointed not to get a chance to perform in the skate off.

Comedian Lou Samders and her partner Colin Grafton ended up in the skate off with Ricky Norwood and Annette Dytrt.

Unfortunately for them, the judges chose Ricky as their winner on the night, leading to Lou’s time on the show coming to an end.

After her elimination, Lou quipped: ‘It’s all about never giving up so we’ll be back next week.’

She went on: ‘I’ve had the absolute time of my life, thank you. He [Colin] said his insurance has gone up since working with me.’

Colin added: ‘We’ve had a blast and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much.’

And, Lou joked: ‘Laughed at my dancing.’

The return of the judges challenge also took place where the celebrities must perform either a free style jump with two feet leaving the ice or a solo spin on one foot for a minimum of two revolutions.

Talking about the challenge, head judge Christopher said it needed to be ‘practically perfect if [contestants] wanted to receive a show stopping score’.

Lou Sanders kicked off the show for Musicals week, as she took to the rink with her pro partner Brendyn Hatfield for a Six inspired routine .

The comedian, who ended up in the skate off last Saturday, earned her highest score of the series with 26.5 out of a possible 40 as three of the judges awarded her 6.5 points and Christopher 7.

An impressed Jane said: ‘I loved the Bolero ending and the jump was good. Generally I think everything is better.’

While Oti added: ‘I enjoyed watching you.’
