Robert Downey Jr. gave himself an extra boost on Sunday night, as he attended the BAFTAs at London’s Royal Festival Hall in a pair of platform heels.
The actor, 58, was joined at the star-studded ceremony by his wife of 18 years, Susan Downey, and cut a dapper figure in a subtly patterned tailcoat grey jacket.
Her teamed it with a pair of coordinating trousers and a star-shaped brooch, while sporting his signature tinted sunglasses.
As he joked about on the red carpet with Susan, Robert showed off his smart black shoes, that boasted a chunky heel.
The 5ft8in star commonly wears platform shoes after sporting them on the set of several of his huge films.

Robert wore heels while playing his iconic role as Iron Man, in order to give the superhero some extra inches, especially around his taller co-stars.
His onscreen love interest Gwyneth Paltrow confessed in 2013: ‘Robert doesn’t like me to wear high heels, because he doesn’t want me to be taller than him.’
Robert also reportedly wore platformed shoes while filming Sherlock Holmes, as director Guy Ritchie wanted him to look the same height as Watson star, Jude Law.
It has been alleged that it took the star a while to learn how to walk in the wedged shoes, with many outtakes of him stumbling.
However, after getting to grips with the heels, Robert has now adopted the footwear as a regular staple in his everyday wardrobe too.
The Zodiac star was riding even higher on Sunday evening, as he scooped the prize for Best Supporting Actor at the ceremony.
He won for his role as Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer, which has swept the board during the 2024 awards season.
In his speech, Robert admitted he owes the award to director Christopher Nolan, producer Emma Thomas and leading man Cillian Murphy, as well as ‘British influence’.

Robert’s win set a new record for the longest gap between wins by any performer as it comes 31 years after his previous BAFTA, for the 1993 film Chaplin.
The previous record was 27 years, set by Sir Anthony Hopkins in 2021 when he won the award for best actor for The Father, nearly three decades after his 1994 win for Shadowlands.
Robert later celebrated his success, alongside his Oppenheimer cast and crew, at the Universal Pictures afterparty at The Nomad Hotel in Covent Garden.
He was joined by fellow winners Christopher, Cillian and Hoyte van Hoytema, who won Best Director, Best Actor and Best Cinematography respectively, while Oppenheimer also bagged Best Film.
Robert swapped his plain black T-shirt that he wore to the ceremony, for a graphic Sex Pistols T-shirt, but he kept his heeled shoes on to party the night away.
