The couple recently fled amid mounting trouble in the Middle East after a war broke out between the U.S. and Israel against last month.
The former footballer needed to be back in London to film his football podcast, Rio Ferdinand Presents, while Kate wanted to be with family for Mother's Day.
While the couple apparently plan to head back to the UAE in the near future, they remained in London this week to join Tate, 19, at his signing.
Tate is the son of Rio and his late wife Rebecca Ellison, who passed away in 2015, aged just 34, following a battle with breast .
Since beginning a relationship with Rio, Kate has helped to raise her husband's children as their stepmother. They are also parents to Cree, five, and Shae, two.
Kate has spoken of her close relationship with her stepchildren and how she misses the eldest boys since relocating to Dubai last year.

She said it is especially hard because the family had always been together and it’s a 'huge adjustment' to get used to life without them.
So it's no surprise that Kate and Rio were there to support Tate on the day, as he signed a contract with New Era Global Sports Management.
It is a UK-based sports agency owned by ex-footballers Jamie Moralee and Peter Smith that represents and manages professional athletes, mainly footballers.
Tate's father Rio is as an ambassador/mentor and also has a significant ownership stake in the London Bridge based company.
Rio proudly sat beside his son as he signed the contract, while Kate flanked him on the other side in front of a screen that said: 'Welcome Tate Ferdinand'.
She also said: 'So proud of you @TateFerdinand. Signing with @neweraglobalsports'.
The couple made the move to Dubai with the footballer's daughter Tia, 13, from his first marriage to his late wife Rebecca, and their two children together.
However, his two eldest sons Lorenz, 19, and Tate, 17, remained in the UK.
The Towie star previously said of her move to the UAE: 'I am enjoying it, but I miss home quite a lot. I get upset. I miss the big boys a lot and I'm just struggling with that.
'I know this decision is right for my younger children and as a family we are settled there, but the boys are following their football careers. So they're doing what they want to do otherwise they'd be with us.
'But it's very hard because we've been through so much as a family and we've always been together and that's a huge adjustment.'

However, this month she made a U-turn on her comments.
While speaking about living in Dubai during Ramadan, Kate explained: 'The kids have shorter days, my children are going to school from 8:45am and they get picked up at 1pm, so like they're doing half days.
'Everything changes, I like the energy, it's quite calming – not when they kids come back at 1pm by the way – it's just something that I've not experienced before.
'It's a different vibe and I feel like living in a country with different religions and so many different cultures, you learn so much and pick up so much.
'My children are learning things that they wouldn't... they might learn it in the UK but they wouldn't actively be living it. That's something that I really love about Dubai.'
On Saturday, Ferdinand posted a picture of himself bare-chested on his socials, sipping a bottle of Portuguese Super Bock beer on a sun-kissed terrace and wrote: 'That feeling when Liverpool + Chelsea drop points in the race for the top 4'.
The ex-Old Trafford and England legend added two clinking beer glass emojis before signing off saying: 'Happy Saturday people!'
The selfie was taken at the villa the star owns on the Algarve near Quinta do Lago where he runs summer football camps, and where he and Kate spent last summer on holiday with their children.
