Australian Idol co-host Ricki-Lee Coulter has shared a hilarious video to social media pointing out the very long pause she made before announcing this year’s winner.
In the clip, the veteran singer, 38, explained she was told to pause dramatically after saying ‘the winner is…’ to increase the suspense.
Coulter included a timer on the video, showing she paused for 30 seconds before announcing Sydneyย star Dylan Wright as the winner.
She captioned the footage with some amusing words: ‘The agonising wait before I was given the green light from the director to announce the winner.
‘Hot tipโฆit was LONG! I’m so sorry to Dylan Wright andย the whole of Australia for keeping you on the edge of your seats for THAT long!!! I was just doing my job.’

Many of Ricki-Lee followers took to the comments section to point out it was very suspenseful to watch at home.
‘It’s like watching the Bold and the Beautiful and every other soap,’ one cheeky fan wrote, while a second person added: ‘You tried your hardest to extend every word.’
‘OMG, the wait was painful,’ a third person chipped in.

Dylan plans to treat his beloved wifeย Georgia and their two kidsย Piper, four, and Rivi, one, to a family holiday and said he wouldn’t have won without their support.
‘I want to take my wife and my two daughters on a holiday, maybe camping, and then I’ll start writing more music and touring,’ he said.
‘It wouldn’t have been possible without my wife, she made the process as smooth as possible for me.’ย
Dylan, a painter and decorator, also looked ahead to how his life is going to change and said he now plans to pursue music as a full-time career and tour Australia.
