Renee Zellweger, 55, looks very casual with messy hair… after going glam for months to promote Bridget Jones 4

Renée Zellweger looked very  casual as she stepped out in her Southern California neighborhood Monday. 

The actress, 55, who for months went through rigorous makeup and wardrobe styling for a glamorous look while promoting her latest film, looked very much like her character in Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.

The Oscar-winner’s long, blonde hair was styled in a messy updo with wavy tendrils framing her face as she chatted with a dog walker in tony Newport Beach.

She wore a gray sweatshirt with the word ‘Fallon’ on it, presumably from her recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. 

The Judy star appeared to be makeup free.

The fourth Bridget Jones film was a hit internationally, bringing in $35.5 million from theaters in 71 markets around the world, according to Variety.

In the US, the romantic comedy, which reunited Zellweger with co-stars Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, has been streaming on Peacock. 

The film received a warm 86-percent approval rating from the critics at Rotten Tomatoes.  

Zellweger, who is very private and has no social media, admitted in an interview with Grant for Vogue, she chose to ‘live in Southern California, near San Diego … Because that’s where my fellow lives, and his little boy.’

She and the ‘fellow,’ British presenter Ant Anstead, 45, met in 2021 when she was on the Discovery show Celebrity IOU Joyride.

During the episode she gifted a restored Oldsmobile 442 and a Ford Bronco to the caregivers of her late friend and publicist Nanci Ryder, who died from ALS in 2020.

Anstead shares his son Hudson, five, with ex-wife and HGTV star Christina Haack.  

The One True Thing star has settled nicely into family life and can often be seen driving a mini-van while wearing an orange baseball cap, according to friends.

‘Ant’s an easy guy to get along with, an easy guy to like. He’s a family-oriented person. He’s not really into the spotlight and neither is Renée,’ a friend of Anstead’s   told Page Six.

Zellweger is signed on to headline another romantic, comedy, The Back Nine, with Sex and the City’s Michael Patrick King in the director’s chair.

She will star as a former pro-golfer named Casey Jones, who gave up the game to be a wife and mother, returns to the green after her marriage begins to crumble. The film is listed as being in pre-production in IMDB.
