Reneé Rapp put comedian Jo Koy on blast for his less than thrilling performance hosting the 81st Golden Globe Awards, which still managed to amass 9.4M viewers on Sunday.
While appearing on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna on Monday, the 24-year-old Mean Girls star was asked which trends were ‘out’ and she replied on TikTok: ‘The man that was making a bunch of jokes about women last night at the Golden Globes.’
In the comments of the post, fans giddily praised Reneé for ‘keeping it real’ by criticizing the 52-year-old Filipino-American funnyman’s ‘sexist jokes.’

Indeed, Jo (born Joseph Glenn Herbert) inspired groans from the A-list audience for making fun of Taylor Swift camera cutaways, Barry Keoghan’s substantial private parts, and Barbie being ‘based on a plastic doll with big boobies.’
Koy – who famously dated Chelsea Handler – told People on Monday he’d ‘love to’ host the glitzy awards ceremony again as long as he has ‘five months, not nine days’ to prepare for the CBS telecast gig.
Rapp was joined at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan on Monday by her Mean Girl castmates Angourie Rice, Avantika, and Bebe Wood as well as Spice Girl Mel B.
The bisexual blonde has been hard at work promoting her role as Regina George in Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr.’s big-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical Mean Girls, which hits US theaters this Friday and UK theaters January 17.
The 112-minute remake also features Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Jon Hamm, Auli’i Cravalho, Christopher Briney, Jenna Fischer, Ashley Park, and Busy Philipps.
Reneé made her Broadway debut at age 19 in Jeff Richmond and Nell Benjamin’s musical based on Mark Waters’ 2004 hit film, which was originally adapted from Rosalind Wiseman’s 2002 book Queen Bees and Wannabes.
Rapp is next scheduled to perform on the January 20th episode of NBC’s Saturday Night Live before kicking off her 17-date Snow Hard Feelings Tour in Paris on February 13.
But first, the World Burn belter – who gets 5.8M monthly listeners on Spotify – will celebrate her 25th birthday this Wednesday.
