Sentimental Value star Renate Reinsve had to stop her sister from randomly touching Leonardo at the . 

The Norwegian actress, 38, revealed she got 'so drunk' at the Golden Globes as she recalled her hilarious red carpet outing last month when she brought her sister as her plus one to the ceremony. 

The pair made the most of their night as they rubbed shoulders with Hollywood's elite - as well as enjoying the booze on offer as the pair got 'so drunk'.  

And Renate's sister, whose name is unknown, lives 'deep in the Norwegian countryside' and couldn't believe her luck when she had a run in with the Titanic actor. 

'Leonardo DiCaprio stepped on the train of my sister's dress, he smiled at her and apologised,' Renate - who plays actress Nora Borg in the multi-award winning Norwegian film - told The Times

'She lives deep in the Norwegian countryside, she'd never been to anything like this in her life, and she had this really deep impulse to touch him. I had to stand between them and say, "Please, don't do it, be cool. Step away!"'

Asked if it put a dampener on the evening, Renate insisted: 'Oh no, the two of us had so much fun that night, we got so drunk!'

Fast forward to Sunday for the BAFTAs, it was Renate's turn to apologise after she stepped on a fellow star's gown. 

Renate walked past former CBBC star Mia McKenna-Bruce, 28, who was being interviewed by media outlets, when she accidentally stood on her dress on the red carpet.

She unintentionally stood on the train of Mia's embellished black dress but quickly apologised.

Turning around, Mia said: 'No, you’re fine, it’s fine. It takes up a lot of space.' 

'You look great,' Renate said as she smiled and made her way through the crowd. 

Renate was nominated for the Leading Actress award for her role in Sentimental Value but lost out to  for Hamnet. 

In her speech, Jessie said: 'This is really such an incredible honour. As a little girl I never thought in a million years I would be allowed to make a film but here I am.

'When I arrived into my agent Lindy King in London, and I had nuclear bad fake tan on, white hoop earrings, a polka dot red skirt and dress, and I had the audacity to say to her that I dreamed to someday be something like Judi Dench. 

'I don't know how on God's green earth she even dreamed that was possible. Thank you Lindy for always encouraging me to be disobedient and curious and human.

'This really does belong to the women who have taught me and continue to teach me how to do it differently.'   

At the BAFTAs, One Battle After Another received a record 14 nominations, and came out on top as it .

As it was awarded Best Film, producer Sarah Murphy said: 'We wish more than anything that our producing partner Adam Somner could be here to accept this on behalf of us on his home turf.'

Director and producer Paul Thomas Anderson said: 'Thank you for rewarding our film in the way that you have, its just a tremendous honour.

'I'm well aware of the other films that share this. Anybody that says movies aren't any good any more they can piss off because this is just a great f*****g year.'

The film tells the story of an ex-revolutionary (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is forced back into his old lifestyle when he and his daughter are pursued by a crooked military officer (Sean Penn). 

After One Battle Or Aother's six wins, Sinners, Frankenstein and I Swear followed with three each whilst Hamnet won two gongs.

The biggest loser of the evening was the highly acclaimed ping pong drama Marty Supreme, which went into the evening as one of the favourites, with 11 nominations. It came away completely empty-handed.
