Ramsays and Peaty: Love Amid Family Turmoil

and Holly Ramsay's marriage has become one of the most talked about weddings in recent times, and for all the wrong reasons.

While the loved up couple said 'I do' at Bath Abbey in December, the happy day was dampened by a devastating family feud that saw Adam's mother Caroline disinvited from the wedding and his sister Bethany the only relative in attendance.

The Olympian's estranged family reportedly branded TV chef Gordon a 'bully' after he claimed their fallout with the swimmer was 'self-inflicted'.

Gordon told the Daily Mail that he and his wife Tana had 'done nothing wrong' and despite reports suggesting otherwise had treated the Peaty family 'like royalty'.

The TV chef has been quick to praise Adam, evidently approving of his new son-in-law as he called him a 'gent' and 'thoroughbred' in a recent interview with OK! Magazine.

However while Gordon has been quick to criticise the Peaty family, his own marriage to Tana didn't start out so smoothly.

Gordon and Tana Ramsay's imperfect marriage: From incriminating family feuds and affair scandal - how the pair's rollercoaster relationship mirrors daughter Holly and Adam Peaty's rocky start

The Peaty's and the Ramsay's have been embroiled in a bitter which saw Adam's mother Caroline disinvited from the wedding and his sister Bethany the only relative in attendance

The couple met in the early nineties before marrying in December 1996 and will be celebrating their pearl wedding anniversary later this year.

The pair share six children, Megan, 27, twins Jack and Holly, 26, Tilly, 24, Oscar, six and the youngest, Jesse James, two.

However the couple have overcome perhaps more hiccups than most, and like Adam and Holly they have been engulfed in their own share of family feuds and complicated exes.

Back in 2014, Tana was forced to choose between her husband and her parents after their family was torn apart in a bitter row.

Her father Chris, now 75, was jailed in 2017 after he was convicted of hacking Ramsay’s computer system following his sacking during an acrimonious public dispute.

The intrusion was discovered by an expert employed by Gordon. The court heard the computers at his businesses were hacked nearly 2,000 times.

The hacking took place after they fell out in 2010, when, after 12 years as Gordon's business partner, Chris was removed as a director and shareholder of Gordon Ramsay Holdings Ltd.

Gordon accused him of stealing £1.4 million and a public spat ensued. The following year, lawyers for Gordon won a High Court ruling allowing Chris' computer to be searched.

It later emerged that Chris, a married father of four, had concealed a second family.

He had secretly fathered two more children by his mistress, who lived in a house a few miles from where he brought up Tana and his three other children.

Gordon paid £2 million in a 2012 legal settlement to cut all professional ties, and the row led to Tana severing contact with her family.

Her brothers, Adam Hutcheson  and Chris Hutcheson Junior were handed four-month suspended sentences for conspiracy.

Speaking in court at the time, Tana called the fight 'extremely distressing' and said that her 'dominant' father had 'systematically defrauded' the chef during his time as chief executive of Gordon Ramsay Holdings.

However, the family have since managed to forgive Chris, healing the acrimonious rift which cast a giant shadow over her life.

In an interview with The Mail On Sunday back in 2018, when asked if she was in touch with her dad, Tana said: ‘Oh yes, absolutely.’

She added that her father, who has just turned 70, had even become something of a role model, having embarked on a fitness drive. ‘He has just had a hip replacement and has been on this health regime,’ she said.

‘He’s lost a stone in three weeks and ran his 90th marathon in April with three of his grandchildren and one of his sons. I’d like to aspire to that.’

While Tana and her dad managed to patch things up, so far the Peaty family are at loggerheads with the family reportedly telling friends they have 'given up hope' of reconciling with their son after 's latest social media comment.

The chef referred to himself as 'dad' in a comment on Adam's wedding video where the Olympian said he would 'always .

An insider told The Sun: 'It's been a really emotional time for them as a family. They're coming to terms with what has happened and that Adam has picked his side.

'It's dashed any hope of reconciliation in the near future. They're keeping their heads down and trying to move on quietly. It's clear Adam's made his choice.'

Meanwhile how Gordon and Tana first met wasn't smooth sailing either, after he revealed he 'stole' his wife from one of his friends after meeting her and thinking she looked like a young Julia Roberts.

Similarly when Holly and Adam met, circumstances were complicated as Adam had recently split from his partner and the mother of his child, Eirianedd Munro (pictured in 2022)

Sarah Symonds(pictured in 2010) alleged she had a seven year affair with the chef from 2001 until 2008 after they met in celebrity London nightclub Chinawhite

And after Adam and Eirianedd's split, he and Holly's romance was revealed the following summer, with claims suggesting they began seeing each other in May with the athlete even spending time at her family home in Rock, Cornwall.

As Adam and Holly begin wedded life, for Gordon and Tana their almost 30 year relationship has come with its scandals along the way.

The couple found themselves at the centre of headlines when Sarah Symonds alleged she had a seven year affair with the chef from 2001 until 2008 after they met in celebrity London nightclub Chinawhite.

Gordon instantly denied all, calling Sarah 'a complete slapper'. She, for her part, insists she cared for him deeply.

Writing for the Daily Mail back in 2023, Sarah wrote of her relationship with Gordon: 'I was with a man who made my heart race even if he was very much married. I wanted a life for us — as 'us' — and yet the reality was I just got crumbs, glimpses of what that life could be.'

Despite allegedly seeing each other for seven years, she claims he never promised her a future with her.

They stopped seeing each other in 2008 when their seven-year affair became public after the News of the World ran a story about it.

She wrote: 'I was 38, finally older and wiser. He denied what we had at the time and attempted to erase me from his life. Hindsight has allowed me the time to understand that.'

Sarah has since reached out to Adam's mum Caroline, telling The Daily Mail's Katie Hind: 'One could say we are kindred spirits. Because if anyone knows what she is going through it is me.'

Gordon has since insisted it was not his decision to uninvite Adam's parents from the wedding and hopes that one day they can heal the rift by 'drawing a line in the sand'.

On the rift with Adam's parents, the chef told OK! Mag: 'It's just upsetting. It's all self-inflicted from their side because we've done nothing - none of which you've read, no rudeness, no ignorance - we welcomed them.

'We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty. So to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously.'
