Pop Stars Long-Awaited Tour Sparks Fan Discontent

is hitting the road for her first world tour in almost two decades, and Australian fans are in for a treat.

The Come Clean hitmaker, 38, was last in the country back in 2008 on her Dignity world tour and is redressing that balance with the announcement of the Lucky Me tour to support her upcoming album Luck...or Something.

She will be heading Down Under this October for a four-date run kicking off at the Entertainment Centre on October 22.

Hilary will then head to 's Qudos Bank Arena on October 24, and 's Rod Laver Arena on October 26, before rounding out the run at the RAC Arena in on October 29. 

The Lizzie Maguire star took to Instagram to announce the tour with a clip of herself rummaging through a closet, which ended with her selecting a cosy white faux-fur coat. 

'The name says it all,' she wrote on Instagram.

Australian fans were quick to voice their excitement on Live Nation Australia's Friday Instagram announcement.

'Inner child screaming,' one excited fan offered, while another jumped in with: 'Omg!!! LOVE HER soooooo much.'

A third offered an equally thrilled: 'This is what dreams are made of,' while another summed up the sentiment of many with: 'Sooo excited!! I went when I was 16 and you bet I’m now going now!'

The announcement drew some criticism however, with some Hilary Duff fans disappointed with the lack of an Adelaide show in the announcement. 

'Missing Adelaide is So Yesterday,' one crestfallen fan wrote. 'We’re here if you need us!'

'Hey Now! What about Adelaide?' another asked, while a fourth chimed in with: 'Why is Adelaide always missed?'

One even-headed fan suggested that the lack of an Adelaide stop on the tour was a case of 'win some, lose some'.
