Jeff Kober was nominated in the Best Guest Actor in a Drama category and spent money out of his own pocket to achieve that recognition.
The 72-year-old veteran actor will face stiff competition including previous Emmy winners Bradley Whitford and Jeff Hiller in addition to Oscar nominees Colman Domingo and Jonathan Pryce in addition to his castmate from the series, Ernest Harden Jr.
Kober portrayed motorcycle guru Duke on The Pitt as he was not included in HBO's official batch of Emmy submissions so he decided to self-submit and campaign on his own.
Of the decision, he told Page Six Hollywood: 'To be fair, the bet was only a 225-buck submission fee and a little work.

'But I knew that it was work that was going to get seen, and it was work that I stood behind and that I was happy with. It was just kind of a no-brainer to me. Coming from soaps, I self-submitted in that world. I don’t know if everyone does; I just know that I had to. So it was just kind of like, "Oh, okay, I’ll do it again!"'
Kober is a journeyman actor who has been a series regular on legendary soap opera General Hospital in addition to guest roles on Highway to Heaven and Buffy the Vampire Slayer as well as multiple NCIS and CSI series.
Supriya Ganesh, who has portrayed senior resident Dr. Samira Mohan since the beginning of the series, was not nominated and exited the series at the conclusion of season 2

Wyle's protagonist character is Dr. Michael 'Robby' Robinavitch who is a senior physician who is still reeling from his traumatic experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He previously starred on aforementioned iconic medical drama ER over 254 episodes from 1994 to 2009.
Each episodeat the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
The show takes place in Pittsburgh, with the title nodding to both the location and a nickname for the hospital's emergency department.
