Noah Wyle has teased a major shake-up for The Pitt's hotly-anticipated third season, after the show landed a massive 25 Emmy nominations.

The former ER star, 55, who plays Dr. Michael 'Robby' Robinavitch, revealed that the acclaimed medical drama has changed up their screenwriting and filming format compared to the first two seasons.

Filming is currently underway for season three, and the premiere is not expected until early next year.

However, the television veteran discussed one of the major concepts and explained how the upcoming season will stray away from what they had previously done so far.

In a new interview, Wyle detailed how the next season is intended to be based on the effects of real-life events.

This also takes place after The Pitt announced a change in the cast lineup earlier this year amid feud rumors.

'Up until now, we've plotted our show almost in real time when people are watching,' Wyle told Deadline on Wednesday.

'We've written the shows eight months before we air, but we've written them to take place in the time and place in which they are being watched this season,' he continued about seasons one and two.

'We didn't do that this season,' he said about season three, which he and his remaining costars are currently filming.

He highlighted the 'fear' and 'anticipation' of Americans in the face of 'the executive of the Big Beautiful Bill that will have a lot of ramifications' to come

'We wanted to focus on what those last couple of months of the year are going to be like,' he added about the bill that will result in drastic cuts to health care, food assistance, student loans and energy programs to cover tax cuts for others

Earlier this year, a couple of changes to season three were already revealed - especially Supriya Ganesh's surprise exit; pictured from left to right: Gerran Howell and Supriya Ganesh
