Daddy Pig is taking on his biggest challenge yet, announcing his plans to run the London Marathon.
Peppa's dad is running the 26.2 mile course - both on screen and in real life - to raise awareness and funds for the National Deaf Children’s Society, after his son George's recent hearing loss diagnosis.
In a first for the beloved childrens show, Daddy Pig won’t just be running the marathon on screen in an upcoming episode, he’ll be doing it in real life too in a specially designed running costume.
Peppa, George, Mummy Pig and baby Evie will be squealing their support on Sunday April 26 as Daddy Pig joins thousands of other at the world famous race.
Like his fellow runners, Daddy Pig has been training hard to make sure his trotters are in peak condition, with his piglets helping out every step of the way.
'Peppa has appointed herself as my coach and has been keeping me on my toes, that’s for sure,' Daddy Pig has told the Daily Mail.

And Peppa hasn't kept the training to jumping in muddy puddles. 'We’ve been running regularly (although Peppa prefers to ride her scooter) and inventing all kinds of brand-new ways to train,' he revealed.
'I reckon I’m the first person to run the London Marathon that has ever trained by carrying three little piggies on their back.'
His three little piggies are his inspiration as Daddy Pig, who perhaps isn't best known for his love of exercise, declared that 'I wanted to prove to Peppa and George that with some hard work, grit and determination, you can do anything you put your mind to.'
As well as inspiring his children, he's also hoping to raise funds and awareness for the National Deaf Children’s Society, running alongside 50 other runners as part of a team.

The NDCS have 'provided so much wonderful advice and support since we found out that George is moderately deaf in one ear' Daddy Pig gushed, adding that 'this felt like the perfect way to give back and show our appreciation!'
It was announced last month that a powerful upcoming storyline in the beloved kids show will see Peppa's little brother diagnosed as moderately deaf.
A new episode, set to air on Milkshake from March 9, sees George attend an audiology appointment during a routine doctor’s visit, where his family learns he has moderate hearing loss in one ear.
He is then fitted with a hearing aid, allowing him to experience sounds in a new way, with the marathon episode continuing to promote the message of inclusive storytelling.
Daddy Pig has updated fans on his son's progress, admitting 'there have been some ups and downs. It’s a big adjustment for him – but he’s taking everything in his stride so well.'

'He’s such a determined little piggy! And he’s very excited to be discovering the world around him in a new way.'
George fans will be tickled pink to hear that his family have been incredibly supportive of his diagnosis with Daddy Pig gushing that 'Peppa has been great. She’s so good at knowing when George needs help and being there for him.'
'We’ve all learned a lot and educated ourselves as much as possible.'

'Whether it’s reducing background noise or making sure we’re facing him when speaking, lots of small accommodations go a long way for George.'
'Then there are some of the more techy things like our brand-new light-up doorbell… Which George loves a little too much, especially during Evie’s nap times!'
Jack Harrison, dad to 17-month-old George, who is deaf, is also running for the National Deaf Children’s Society alongside Daddy Pig and echoes Daddy Pig's praise for the NDCS.
Fans can track Daddy Pig and his team’s progress on the day using the TCS London Marathon App, where they will also be able to donate to his official Enthuse fundraising page
'When our son George was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss at just three weeks old, the National Deaf Children’s Society became our lifeline — from essential information to helping our whole family learn some BSL,' Jack explained.
'Even the smallest donation can make a huge difference for deaf children. I’m no runner, and training alongside fulltime work and three kids is pushing me to my limits – and I expect Daddy Pig feels the same! - but it’s absolutely worth it to support a charity that means so much to us.'
