According to music producer Damion 'Damizza' Young, the Baywatch star secretly provided background vocals for 's 2001 hit Loverboy.
Recalling how the unlikely collaboration came about, Young told the TFU Podcast that it started after Carey and Anderson became friends in the early 2000s.
'So I go to the studio to finish up the recording of Loverboy, and Mariah says, "Pam's coming by to do backgrounds",' he said.
'I'm a huge Baywatch fan, so I'm like, "Pamela Anderson's coming by?! Oh, hell yeah!" So the next thing I know we're poppin champagne and she's like, "What do you want me to do?"'
Young then praised Anderson's surprisingly good vocal chops.

'Pam Anderson can sing. And she's one of the smartest people I have ever met in my life,' he gushed, before adding, 'The dumb blonde thing is an act.'
Released in 2001, Loverboy reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 while the official remix with Da Brat and Ludacris hit No. 1 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
While most people are unaware that Anderson's vocals are on the track, the former Playboy model did previously open up about the song while co-hosting the World Music Awards in 2014.
'I did background vocals on her album,' Anderson said on stage. 'I was the "Whoooo!" That was me.'
Working with Carey isn't the first time that Anderson has had to sing.

Fans were stunned by the news of Anderson's Mariah Carey collaboration, with one commenting, 'This is the most random thing I’ve heard in months!'
Another wrote, 'If you’ve ever seen her in Chicago, she's extremely talented! And yes, she can definitely sing.'

In recent years, Anderson has made strides to grow her acting career.
In 2024, she won widespread critical acclaim for her lead role in the drama The Last Showgirl.
She then appeared alongside Liam Neeson in the comedy The Naked Gun and will next be seen in the arthouse film Rosebush Pruning with Elle Fanning.
Anderson is also set to star in a new project from award-winning Hungarian filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó called Place to Be.
With her career going so well, Anderson has made it clear that she has no interest in pursuing a romantic relationship any time soon.
'I just want to unleash the dragon. I don't need anybody in my way. I want to get it out. It happens at different times in everybody's life, and this is my time,' she told Another Magazine.
'There's that great Osho quote – "The capacity to be alone is the capacity to love." That's where I'm at right now,' she continued.
'Every once in a while I'll have a flirtation or somebody will want to have dinner or talk about the future and it's titillating. It's like, "OK, I'm good now for a whole year, thank you".'
The 58-year-old is currently focused on her acting career and has several arthouse films in the pipeline
