Police alleged in a probable cause affidavit that the shooting of Offset happened after his rival rapper Lil Tjay instigated a fight on Monday night; Lil Tjay pictured in his mugshot on April 6

According to the probable cause affidavit obtained by the Daily Mail, law enforcement claims that Tjay – real name Tione Merritt – 'directed members of his party to start a fight with another group of males' around 7:22pm on Monday night.

The Atlanta-bred music artist previously mentioned the altercation as he hit back at Lil Tjay for calling him a rat.

Offset used a social media post from The Shade Room Teens to respond to his nemesis, writing in the comments, 'U ain't buss nun.'

It came after Tjay was arrested on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge and later bonded out of jail.

Amid his release, he told reporters: 'The last thing I [saw] was Offset looking at me like this: "Yo, that n***a shot me, that n***a shot me!”

'N***a is a rat, n***a. … I don't do no damn fighting. Did I shoot Offset? That s**t is crazy. I will smack the s**t out of Offset.'

Police allege that one of the men in Lil Tjay's group pulled out a gun and shot Offset in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Offset, Lil Tjay, the Seminole Police Department and the Broward County Sheriff's Department for comment.

Lil Tjay's attorney, Dawn Florio, previously denied the 'false rumors that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting' in a statement on Tuesday.

'Lil Tjay has not been shot,' she said, dispelling rumors that spread online shortly after Offset was reported to have been shot. 'Nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false.'
