Nicole Richie’s Daughter Reveals Stunning Coachella Transformation!

Kate, who it was recently revealed had changed her name from Harlow to Kate as a young child, showed off her festival looks as she partied with pals and enjoyed 's headline set at the Indio desert festival.

Posting to her 13.6k Instagram followers, Kate's dramatic transformation could be seen in the snaps, with the teen recently ditching her honey blonde locks for a jet black colour. 

Nicole, 44, and Joel, 47, are parents to Kate and son Sparrow, 16.

Back in January, Nicole  and revealed which name she goes by for the first time.

She uploaded a sweet Instagram tribute to her daughter by . But when she tagged the teen, it was revealed that she is now going by her middle name Kate.

Last month Joel spoke about Kate's name change during an appearance on BunnieXO's Dumb Blonde podcast.

 He said: 'She's been going by her middle name since she was in like, first grade.

'She chose it. She went to school, one day she came home, or we went to the open house night or whatever, and the teacher's like, "Kate's doing great. She's so nice."

'And we're like, "Who's Kate?" And they're like, "Your daughter Kate. That's what she said her name was." We're like, "Oh, she's going by her middle name now?" And we went home, and we're like, "You go by Kate at school?" And she goes, "Yeah, I like it."'

He said that around age seven his eldest child opted to go by Kate instead of Harlow.

The musician said: 'It wasn't a big deal. I thought it was cool. And there was no discussion. It wasn't a big deal.'

He went on to explain that everyone knows her as Kate so if someone referred to her as Harlow, it would be an easy tell that they don't actually know her personally.

Joel went on to discuss how proud he is of his two children.

He said: 'I always say my kids have made it so easy to be a dad. They are such easy people.

'It's not been some big sacrifice to be their dad. It feels to me like I was given a gift from god, these kids, cause they are really cool, easy, fun and they make me happy. They make me smile.'

Nicole previously opened up about , admitting she told her kids all about her own wild antics as a teen.  

'I just so clearly remember what it's like to be a teenager. It feels like it happened yesterday for me. And they know everything I did,' she expressed to Glamour.  

'I knew before I had them that I was going to have to be transparent with them about who I was. And I've actually found freedom in that.'

She added: 'I didn't want my kids having some big discovery about me. And I've always been very open and honest with my kids and hope that they are open and honest with me.'
