Kasher, 46, who is known for appearances on The Pitt, Zoolander 2 and Late Night with , announced his shock diagnosis on Father's Day, posting photos after undergoing surgery.
He had been working three months as a punch-up writer on the Savannah, Georgia set of the upcoming Judd Apatow-directed film The Comeback King starring , when he was given the terrifying news.

'It was cancer. Which did not rule so hard,' Kasher told his 138k followers alongside a photo of himself in hospital with a bandaged neck.
'happy father's day. some lousy news. I wrote this on so much oxy,' added the stand-up comic, who has eight-year-old daughter, Frida, with his wife and fellow comedian, Natasha Leggero.
'Two days ago, a Jewish surgery robot at Cedars-Sinai yanked my jaw open for 5 hours and cut it out and then slit my throat and dissected my neck leaving me with a hardcore neck scar which will make people reluctant to street fight me,' Kasher wrote in humorous fashion over a diagram of the surgery.

Kasher recently appeared on the second season of The Pitt as Jacob Samuel, a certified American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter who helps deaf patients
'My tongue was clamped and yanked out of my mouth and is so swollen and bruised. I sound like I Am Sam.'
Another snap showed Kasher with the drawing of an arrow pointing to the 'location of my future hardcore scar' on his neck.

He admitted the ordeal of the past few months had been 'the most terrifying and consciousness-consuming experience of my life.'
