Model Freezes Eggs, Opens Up About Fertility Choices

model Sarah Ann Macklin has revealed that she's taken steps to ensure she won't be left childless.

The former Vogue cover girl, 36, who was wooed by Prince Harry in 2016 before he met Meghan, opened up about her personal journey on . 

In an update to Instagram, she shared a series of photos as she began the process and wrote: 'One of the most personal things I did this year was freeze my eggs. 

'What struck me most wasn't the medical side to it but how many women reached out afterwards to say they were going through the same thing.'

Sarah Ann, whose ex-boyfriends include advert hunk added: 'It reminded me how many decisions women carry about careers, relationships, and timing.

'International Women’s Day feels like a good moment to acknowledge that. Sending love to anyone navigating these questions right now.' 

Sarah concluded: 'The resilience of women never ceases to amaze me.'

The Prince enjoyed a series of dates with the Burberry model in the June and July of that year while he was romancing Miss Markle when she visited London.

Friends of Sarah told The Daily Mail that Harry met the model at a private party where he took her number and bombarded her with texts, just as he is said to have done with Miss Markle. 

Sources said Harry’s interest in Sarah brought on a jealous reaction from her chiselled ex-boyfriend David Gandy, an underwear model for Marks and Spencer.

A source close to her said at the time: ‘Their fling is an open secret among her friends.

‘David Gandy knew that Harry was pursuing her and tried to get her back. At one point she had the country’s most famous male model and a prince vying for her affection, and the novelty was not lost on her. 

‘She ended up turning David down and dating Prince Harry. It eventually fizzled out but they are on friendly terms.’

Another friend confirmed: ‘They were introduced at a social gathering and Harry made a beeline for her. She was very flattered by the attention and they went on a few dates. Everything was kept very below the radar.

‘They got on, but are quite different. She is very clean living and barely drinks and in that respect they were on a different wavelength. Harry also seemed a bit non-committal and it never really got off the ground. Things fizzled out before he went to Africa for a month in August.’

Sarah was signed to leading agency Select Model Management and has worked for brands including Burberry, Abercrombie and Fitch and Matthew Williamson. 

She now runs a podcast, Live Well Be Well, which focuses on mental and physical health in the fashion industry.
