Moana Hopes Airbnb Nightmare This Easter Weekend

Moana Hope was left red-faced this week after committing an embarrassing long weekend faux pas.

The AFLW star, 38, took to her Instagram Story on Thursday to share a horrific tale that would have any holidaymaker shuddering.

She revealed that she had planned an idyllic weekend away with her children, Svea, five, and Ahi, three, and her extended family to Phillip Island. 

'I'm so annoyed at myself. I'm taking my kids down to Phillip Island for the long weekend,' she said in the clip, which she captioned: 'Someone get me a margarita'.

'My whole family's going, we're all going. It's cute – it's going to be such a great time.'

Moana added that she had booked an right on the water, for everyone, as she is a big fan of coastal getaways. 

'I booked a house on the beach – I love the beach... I love being able to walk out of the backyard going onto the beach,' she enthused.

However, Moana's dream long weekend getaway quickly turned into a nightmare when she went to double-check her booking. 

'I jumped on the app and I was like I'll just get all the information together because I'm going to wake up early tomorrow and leave with the kids,' she said.

'As I DM'd the Airbnb, I've just f***ing realised I've booked it for the wrong weekend,' Moana added with a laugh.

She went on to explain that with her previous booking now gone, she was left with the huge task of finding alternative last-minute accommodation in the Victorian tourist hotspot. 

'Now, it's like every man and his dog's booked Phillip Island,' she said.

'I have to book a house that is more inland. I haven't told any of my family about any of this yet, but they are going to destroy me.'

Thankfully, in a subsequent clip, Moana revealed that the crisis was short-lived, as she had secured a new holiday home without having to head inland as she feared.
