Earlier this week, sources informed TMZ that Britney also recorded audio of herself reading the memoir – but only a small portion of it.
Insiders also explained that the star chose to not narrate chapters that discuss her family ‘because she found them too painful to retell in her own words.’
Initially – the publisher Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster – had aimed to get Legally Blonde actress, Reese Witherspoon, to take part in the audio recording of the book. However, she was not ‘available’ to take on the job.
The entertainment tabloid was also told by sources that only female celebrities were sought out as a potential narrator, and added that the star who was officially chosen – now revealed to be Michelle Williams – has already completed the recording.
The main premise, ‘is a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope,’ according to the book’s main website.
Spears dove deep to open up on her early life, career and also her 13-year conservatorship – which notably came to an end in November 2021.
This month, Britney took to Instagram and teased that she had plans to pen a second memoir following the release of The Woman In Me and the $15million book deal with Simon & Schuster.
She had written to her fans and followers, ‘Riding ‘n writing !!! All I’m doing at the moment … volume 2 coming after 1 !!! #TheWomanInMe.’

The Toxic singer has also been keeping fans and readers updated in regards to her memoir, and explained last month that she was putting ‘finishing touches’ ahead of the release.
Back in September, a source informed Page Six that Spears ‘doesn’t want’ to do any interviews to promote The Woman In Me after claims surfaced that her team didn’t feel she was ready.
However, an insider explained, ‘She’s a free woman. She’ll decide. It’s her choice. She’s had offers and she doesn’t want to do anything.’
The source added that the singer ‘has no desire’ to sit down for interviews due to having her ‘mental health, sexuality, parenting, and body image constantly scrutinized. They have not been fair to Britney.’
Despite the star not wanting to do interviews or heavy promotion ahead of the book dropping on shelves, Britney notably enjoyed a recent trip to New York City – and shared special moments to her main Instagram page.
On Wednesday evening, she connected with fellow music superstars Maluma and J Balvin in the Big Apple – but later claimed that she ‘had no idea’ who they were at the time.
Page Six reported the songstress had a late-night sushi dinner with the Colombian musicians at the private social club Zero Bond after arriving into the Big Apple on Wednesday.
‘The guys flagged her down, and she and her group joined them,’ a source told the outlet.

During their hang-out, the trio reportedly talked music and Britney’s upcoming memoir, The Woman In Me.
On Friday, a source also informed TMZ that Britney’s father, Jamie, has no intention to read the memoir, explaining he’s, ‘not sweating what Britney has to say about him in her new book…’
The insider continued, ‘she’s already trashed him both in court and on social media, once saying she hoped he’d spend the rest of his life in jail. ‘
