Melbourne Radio Ratings Surprise: Kyle and Jackie O Struggle, Jase and Lauren’s Nova Show Gains Popularity

The Kyle And Jackie O Show’s Melbourne debut has suffered a shaky start. 

The KIIS FM breakfast show’s share has dropped 0.5 points in the latest radio ratings survey in Victoria, dipping from 6.4 to 5.9 per cent. 

Rival breakfast show Nova’s Jase and Lauren, who were axed at the end of 2023 to make way for Kyle And Jackie O, meanwhile smashed their Sydney-based competitor, growing their market share by 0.4 points to 8.7

The Kyle And Jackie O Show launched in Melbourne on April 29, meaning its listenership is considered for part of the latest survey period.

KIIS FM bosses remain optimistic about the future of Kyle And Jackie O’s Victorian expansion.

The Kyle And Jackie O Show’s Melbourne debut has suffered a shaky start, following the latest ratings survey in Victoria 

‘It’s still too soon to get a true idea of the impact of The Kyle & Jackie O Show in Melbourne given they were only on air for three of the 10 weeks surveyed,’ Duncan Campbell, chief of KIIS parent company ARN, told The Daily Telegraph.

‘We look forward to seeing their full impact in the coming surveys.’

Meanwhile Fox’s Fifi, Fev and Nick, gaining their 12th consecutive win as Melbourne’s most listened to Breakfast show.

In the latest Sydney FM ratings survey, The Kyle And Jackie O Show once again came up on top, after after previously winning the Sydney breakfast FM radio wars for 40 surveys in a row. 

The show suffered a slight dip in listenership this time around, dropping 1.4 points to a 14.7 per cent market share.

On April 29, Kyle and Jackie O took their breakfast radio to Melbourne in a huge multimillion dollar expansion deal.
