Meet Amanda Holdens Glamorous Sister Debbie

Amanda Holden has been in the spotlight for decades and is best known these days as a judge on Britain's Got Talent.

But the star has an equally glamorous sister named Debbie who has largest kept out of the spotlight.

There is only a year between the siblings - who bear a strong resemblance to each other - Amanda is 55 and her sister is 54.

Debbie lives in Thailand and refers to herself as a Adventurer Production, HR Manager, Underwater Photographer and Diving Instructor.

She is also involved in charity work and was advocating for donations to help flood victims in Hat Yai, a city in Thailand.

Amanda and Debbie grew up together in Bishop's Waltham in Hampshire. Their parents, Judith and Frank, divorced when Amanda was five, reportedly due to his heavy drinking.

From that point on, they were raised by Judith and their stepfather Les and were largely estranged from their dad.

Amanda previously admitted while taking part in Who Do You Think You Are that Frank was 'never around' while she and Debbie were growing up.

'He [Les] brought me up from the age of five and I don't remember anything before that because my real father was in the Navy and was never around,' she said.

'My biological dad's side of the family feel like strangers to me, other than Frank and his sister Joan.

'But I had a very deep chat with my mum before doing this programme and she was actually the one who persuaded me to look into the paternal side of the family. She knew you couldn't look at one side without the other.'

Debbie decided to leave England in 2000 'with a 50 litre backpack and very rough plan' she wrote in an old blog post called: 'Where is Deb?'

While she is based in Thailand these days working primarily as a diving instructor, her wanderlust has also taken her to Australia, Mauritania and Inodnesia.

According to The Sun, Amanda and Debbie became particularly close in 2012 after the TV star suffered a near-fatal hemorrhage during the birth of her daughter, Hollie.

In 2015, Debbie was left stranded on Mount Everest when an earthquake killed nearly 9,000 people in Nepal.

She had been due to trek to the Everest base camp which was flattened by an avalanche caused by the quakes.

Amanda spoke about it while she was guest-hosting This Morning at the time.

'My sister managed to send a text to say she's safe,' she said. 'They rushed out when the earthquake came and they rushed back in. They were effected by an avalanche in the camp they were in.

'Captain Tim Bradshaw said a helicopter swept the south side of the mountain so potentially my sister could've been lifted, although she wasn't injured.'

Amanda noted Debbie is more of an 'outdoor's type' than her and had saved up money to climb Mount Everest because it was her dream.

Debbie was sadly involved in a car accident in Cornwall the following year which saw her taken to inteseive care.

A source told The Sun at the time that Amanda had rushed to be by her sister's side in hospital.

'It's been a very difficult 48 hours and the whole family have been pulling together and trying to keep positive,' they said.

'Amanda is very close to her sister. They're only a year apart and there's something about them together which is really special. Amanda's still with her in hospital.'

She was said to be in critical but stable condition at the time and went on to make a full recovery.
