Max George and Maisie Smith have shared a heartbreaking tribute to their beloved dog, Betty, as they revealed she passed away over the weekend.
The pet pooch, who has been a member of Maisie’s family for 18 years, has been cared for by The Wanted star, 35, and the former EastEnders actress, 23, throughout their relationship.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Maisie shared her heartbreak and paid tribute to her other childhood dog, Benny, who died in 2020.
She wrote: ‘Betty Smith, my beautiful girl. How can I squeeze 18 wonderful years into 10 photos?! You did so well baby girl, now you can be with your brother again xxx’
The caption was shared alongside an album of heartwarming snaps of Betty enjoying the final years of her life going on boat rides, spending time with the family and enjoying naps.

Soon after, Max took to his own social media to share a Christmas picture of him hugging the adorable pooch.
Alongside the sweet snap, he wrote: ‘Sleep well beautiful girl. Thank you for 2 years of wonderful memories and 18 years of joy with my Mais and her gorgeous family.’
‘Such a perfect picture, she loved you almost as much as I do,’ Maisie commented.
Maisie’s mum, Julia, also responded to the photo and said: ‘Our beautiful girl, my life will never be the same without you.’
The tragic post comes just days after the couple embarked on a romantic weekend away to celebrate Maisie’s 23rd birthday.
She sent temperatures soaring in a tiny red bikini last week as she celebrated her big day with a sun-soaked getaway.
Maisie looked incredible as she showed off her washboard abs in the stylish two-piece.
Max and Maisie’s relationship was confirmed in September 2022.

Max appeared on the 2020 series of Strictly Come Dancing, finishing ninth alongside partner Dianne Buswell, 35, before competing in the 2022 ITV series The Games and Channel 4’s Scared of the Dark.
The year after he performed on Strictly, Max was invited on the dance show’s nationwide tour which was when he struck up a romance with co-star Maisie.
In 2022, he was forced to defend their 13 age-gap, telling Hello!: ‘It never enters my mind. Maisie has already done so many things that I’m in awe of – I look up to her.’
