Matt Smith’s hair got tousled by the wind on Tuesday as he filmed The Death Of Bunny Munro at Saltdean Lido in Brighton.

The former Doctor Who star, 41, sported a navy shirt with the first few buttons undone, and matching trousers.

He squinted against the sun as he filmed scenes for the upcoming black comedy right beside the water.

The Death Of Bunny Munro follows a misogynistic middle-aged salesman as he takes his son on a road trip around after his wife’s suicide – at the same time as a serial-killer is inhabiting the area.

As Bunny bounces from one sales pitch to the next, trying to seduce any woman he meets, Bunny Junior tries to talk to the ghost of his mother and distract himself from the realisation his father’s life is crumbling around him.

The Sky Atlantic series will have six episodes and it is based on a book of the same name written by Nick Cave.

Nick is best known for being the lead singer of rock band Nick Cave And The Black Seeds and the novel was his second.

He serves as the series’ executive producer along with Matt Smith and several more.

Matt was seen on the series’ set for the very first time in May when he filmed scenes in London.

He was seen looking out-or-sorts as he tumbled head-first through a wooden fence before collapsing across the pavement.

With a small suitcase in hand, Munro – wearing a salmon pink shirt and pinstripe trousers – appeared to be doing a frantic runner  from person or persons unknown.

Matt has said of the series: ‘To work alongside Nick Cave on The Death of Bunny Munro feels like a great honour. It’s a brilliant exploration of love, grief, and chaos.

‘At its heart a deep, difficult, and tender story about a father and son, coping with loss and change.

‘Clerkenwell Films and Sky feels like the perfect home to make such a bold story and Pete has delivered such wonderful scripts, both funny and heart breaking in equal measure.

‘I can’t wait to collaborate with Isabella and begin the journey with everyone at Clerkenwell.’

Nick added: ‘Finally, someone with the courage to take on this unholy tale.

‘I am thrilled that Sky and Clerkenwell Films are bringing Bunny to life, in all his flawed glory, and I can think of nobody better than Matt Smith to play him.’

The series was announced in November 2023 and is directed by Pete Jackson and produced by Clerkenwell Films.

Matt can also be seen in House Of The Dragon, currently airing its second series, in which he plays Daemon Targaryen.

His last film appearance was 2023 British horror Starve Acre with Morfydd Clark and Robert Emms.
