Matt Lucas posed for a sweet snap with Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor on Friday after they unexpectedly found themselves seated next to each other on a packed train.
The comedian, 50, looked delighted as he flashed a dazzling smile next to the actress, 61, who plays Sally Metcalfe in the ITV soap.
And their chance encounter was clearly a fortunate one as Matt gushed over the ‘wonderful’ and ‘remarkable’ actress, having spent nearly three hours chatting to one another.
Captioning his post, Matt penned: ‘The train was packed and I found myself sitting next to Sally Dynevor, a remarkable actress and human being whose work I have enjoyed – along with the rest of the nation – for so many years.
‘We chatted for nearly three hours about our work and our lives. She is as warm and gracious and wonderful off-screen as she is in Weatherfield. I also got to meet her daughter Phoebe, who isn’t too doing badly for herself either. What a treat. x’
Following his heartwarming post, Sally responded with a message of her own as she praised Matt and sweetly remarked that it was the ‘best train journey ever’.

She penned: ‘Matt, that was the best train journey ever. I think we talked about absolutely everything. You are an absolute treasure. Thank you for being you. xxxx’
Sally’s daughter, Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor, 29, also commented on Matt’s post, having presumably met the TV star at the end of the train ride.
She wrote: ‘She had the best train journey! Thank you for keeping her company ❤️ lovely meeting you x’
While Sally’s other actress daughter Hattie, 21, responded: ‘This is so cute!!❤️❤️’
It comes after Matt showcased his incredible weight loss in a navy blue suit as he attended the Gladiator 2 premiere last month.
The comedian and actor, who recently dropped from a size XXXL to an medium, put on a sophisticated display as he stepped out in a tailored two-piece ensemble.
He layered his suit over a crisp white shirt and a navy blue tie, patterned with a fun multi-coloured square design as he showed off his slimmed down frame.
Matt plays the master of ceremonies in battle scenes and previously said he had filmed ‘about 80 takes’ of his self audition to try to impress director Ridley Scott.

Back in 2022, Matt revealed how his family’s concerning medical history made him change his eating habits and become more conscious about his weight.
Matt was just 22 when his father unexpectedly passed away at the age of 52, something he says was a much-needed wake-up call as he got older.
Appearing on sports presenter Gabby Logan’s podcast at the time, he said: ‘I’m 48, my dad died when he was 52, very suddenly, his dad died I think at 56 so I was looking at the law of averages here.
‘I was very big and I was getting bigger in the pandemic actually.
‘Sort of not being very active, not really going out, not seeing people, just eating a lot of roast potatoes. I can’t tell you how many roast potatoes I ate!’

Back in 2022, Matt revealed how his family’s concerning medical history made him change his eating habits and become more conscious about his weight
He said this realisation caused him to lose weight, but the comic said he felt like he needed to do more exercise and become fitter nonetheless.
He added: ‘I was so big I couldn’t really fit on screen anymore. The thing is if you’re big, and by the way I’ve still got a proper tummy, I’m not skinny, by any means, I’ve just lost some weight…
‘I’ve gone from maybe an XXL, sometimes I was an XXXL, down to a medium now I think. Although medium is sometimes big on me and sometimes it’s small on me…
‘The one thing I need to do is get fitter, I have put on a little bit of weight, that’s my next challenge to do a bit more exercise.
‘I might have to make a game of it when I go out and exercise to stay out of people’s way. I don’t have a garden so I have to find a way to do that.’
