A stunning mid-century modern home in Palm Springs once owned by Hollywood Golden Age icon Marilyn Monroe has been put on the market.

The four bedroom, four bathroom 2,978 square foot home once owned by the legendary actress - who died in 1962 at age 36 under suspicious circumstances - has been listed for $3.3 million.

The home - which is known as the Marilyn Monroe Doll House - was built in 1961 which was one year before her untimely death.

The living room of the beautiful home features high vaulted ceilings.

No doubt it is the perfect place to host parties as there are multiple entertaining spaces and even a private pool. 

The property sits on a rare elevated lot and features stunning mountain views.

It was designed by Charles DuBois and built by the Alexander Company.

The neighborhood is also located in a ritzy part of town as it is in the Vista Las Palmas neighborhood which is one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Palm Springs.

The property was listed by David Emerson at Coldwell Banker Realty and is currently owned by founder of M Star Studios Nick Adler. 

Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson in Los Angeles in 1926. She spent most of her childhood in a total of twelve foster homes and an orphanage before marrying James Dougherty at age sixteen. 

She was working in a factory when she met a photographer from the First Motion Picture Unit. 

That led to a successful pin-up modeling career.

Then came leading roles in Niagara, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire, The Seven Year Itch, The Prince and the Showgirl, and Some Like It Hot. Her last completed film was the drama The Misfits in 1961.

She was wed to Joe DiMaggio and Arthur Miller.
