Marcel Somerville has confirmed he and his wife Rebecca Vieira are still ‘married’ after it was reported she sent flirty texts to US rapper Slim Jxmmi behind his back.
Love Island star Marcel, 38, who tied the knot with the model in August 2022, ‘moved out of their family home’ and deleted all traces of her on social media.
But in a new interview with MailOnline, the Blazin’ Squad performer confirmed he and Rebecca are still together and he is looking to the future.
Asked about his relationship status, Marcel said: ‘I’ve gone through a little bit of a crazy time in my life.
‘I’ll talk more about it at a later time, as I’m not really ready to talk about what’s going on right now. We’re working through the situation to get the best outcome that we can.’

He reaffimed the couple were still together when asked if he would ever take part in Love Island: All Stars in the future, adding: ‘I’m married, so doing isn’t in my view right now, and it wouldn’t have been at the time.’
On Easter Sunday, Rebecca posted a family photo with their son, Roman, three, to Instagram, suggesting the couple had reconciled.
She captioned the post: ‘let everything you do be done in love, and let Easter fill your heart with joy and hope.’
Asked how Roman is doing, Marcel said: ‘He’s good. He’s three-and-a-half now. He’s a little terror, but I love him. He’s getting his character, so he’s funny. He’s a very funny kid and he’s a got a little bit of a naughty side to him, but he’s lovable.’
The reality star added he hopes to have more children in the future, saying: ‘I feel that being a dad is definitely what I was made for. I feel like I’m a great dad, so having kids is something I definitely want to do in the future. I want to have more kids.’
Elsewhere, Marcel, who took part on the 2018 series of Love Island, also gave some advice to this year’s crop of contestants.
He said: ‘People still talk about me to this day, but what I’d say is just go in there, and enjoy yourself. You’re having a summer holiday for eight weeks, so make the most of it. Just live the life and enjoy it.’

She wrote on Instagram: ‘By now most of you would have seen what’s going on, I’ve made a huge mistake, I’ve embarrassed not only my husband but myself and both our families.
‘My actions were foolish and have hurt so many people around us but most importantly my husband.
‘I’ve said a lot of things that I shouldn’t have and it was stupid of me so I won’t sit here and justify my actions, those decisions should have never been made.
‘I want to publicly apologise to my Marcel, just as loudly as the rest of the noise. For all the hurt, embarrassment and pain I have put him through there is nothing and no one in the world that comes before you and our family. No-one could ever compare.’
Rebecca followed up the apology with a picture of their gold wedding rings which had the engravement: ‘Always and forever’.

Slim’s ex-girlfriend, who goes by the name KD, accused Rebecca of sharing intimate messages with Slim in now deleted Instagram posts, according to The Mirror.
Speaking to MailOnline, KD claimed Rebecca texted the rapper after they temporarily separated in January.
She said: ‘I broke up with him for about two weeks last month. She [Rebecca] saw it on social media and he said that’s when she contacted him.
‘They used to see each other so that’s why she reached out, to try and rekindle what they had.’
A source told The Mirror: ‘Marcel is absolutely devastated. Rebecca was his life and he’d changed so many things about his lifestyle to make her happy. Everything he did, everything he worked for was for his wife and his son.
‘The poor guy feels like he’s in a nightmare and he keeps hoping he’ll wake up. For him to know that Rebecca was telling another man she loves him, and then spent Valentine’s Day with him has completely broken him.
‘He doesn’t know what he’s going to do now but he’s moved out of the family home and is living with friends at the moment.’
