A man has been charged over the alleged online harassment of pop star , with police also pursuing an apprehended violence order to protect the singer.

Daniel Elias Tadros, 33, is due to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday after being charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend.

The allegations are understood to relate to online messages allegedly directed at Goodrem while she was overseas.

Police have also applied for an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) on behalf of Goodrem against Tadros.

The pop star has had a number of documented stalking and harassment incidents over the years.

One of the most widely reported cases involved a man - who is not Daniel Elias Tadros - who repeatedly targeted her with unwanted contact over a sustained period.

Police later took out an AVO to protect her, which prohibited him from contacting her, attending her performances, or going near her home.

In court proceedings, he was also convicted of stalking-related offences and breaches of that order after continuing to approach her and communicate with her.

At one point, court documents and reporting described him appearing at her apartment on Valentine's Day, attempting to leave gifts, and returning multiple times after being turned away by building security.

The behaviour escalated to the point where police intervention and court restrictions were required.

Delta recently returned from Vienna, Austria, where she placing fourth.

'I think I went [into it] just wanting to be proud of what I did, and all you can ever do in life is, you know, just do your very best,' Delta told Sunrise of her Eurovision experience.

'I really went into it wanting to enjoy it. It's an honour to get to do that, and to represent.'
