Magda Szubanskis Major Health Update Amid Cancer Fight

Magda Szubanski has shared a very happy health update amid her battle with stage four .

The 64-year-old comedian, who was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma in 2025, told followers that she is now in remission after completing chemotherapy.

Posting to her stories on Friday, the Kath and Kim star took a dig at trolls who had shared a cruel hoax earlier this month that claimed Magda had passed away.

'What else do I have to say?' she said as she thanked fans for their support and paid tribute to her medical team.

'I’m not dead, but I'll have to check that with social media because they know more about me than I do,' she quipped. 

Magda looked lively as she described her news as 'fantastic'.

'I’ve completed chemo and I am now in remission. Phew!' she said. 'It's not a cure, but if I’ve got a good remission, hopefully that will mean I’ll be able to keep the cancer at bay for a good long time'

Telling fans that she felt loved and supported during her health crisis, Magda said that it helped physically as well as emotionally.

'So eternal gratitude, thank you so much for that,' she added.

Elsewhere in the clip, Magda praised her own health team and Australia's medical community, calling it 'one of the best in the world.'

'There's not a day that goes by that I don't give profound thanks to the medical community... and also to the common sense of the Australian people that we see how practical and compassionate it is to have a really good medical system,' she said. 

Magda, who is an outspoken member of the LGBTQ+ community, also used her post to announce that she would be missing out on Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras this weekend.

Magda has had a long and public journey with health issues.

She has previously spoken about living with osteoarthritis, autoimmune arthritis, sleep apnoea, and migraines.

In addition to her physical health, the comedian has been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness, candidly sharing her experiences with anxiety.
