Magda Szubanski Warns Fans of New Online Scam

Magda Szubanski has issued a warning to fans, after she was targeted in another online hoax.

The Kath & Kim star, 65, took to Instagram on Friday to expose a 'bulls***' health scam which used both her name and celebrity GP, Dr Ginni Mansberg, to lure unsuspecting people into buying products.

'Hi peeps, it’s bulls*** scam alert time again,' she said in the clip.

'I have never met Dr Ginni Mansberg, let alone had a conversation in public or in private with her about how, when, where, why, how often I wee.'

She continued: 'There’s something going around on the internet. It’s just a scam trying to flog some product called Vital Hemp. It’s all bulls***.'

Magda then urged her followers not to believe everything they see online.   

'The rule of thumb, I would say, is if you want to know if something is true or whether I’ve said it, come to my Instagram page and that’s where I put my posts,' she said.

'This is very annoying and I really hope you haven’t wasted your money. Happy Friday, love you all.'

She was also quick to clarify, in the post's caption, that Dr Mansberg was also a victim of the scam.

'Dr Ginni is NOT the perpetrator!! She’s being used just like me,' she wrote. 

It's now the third time this year that Magda has been the subject of online hoaxes. 

Back in January, Magda issued an urgent warning to fans after her likeness was used in a cruel scam.

Sharing an AI-generated image of a woman resembling her lying in a hospital bed, the Kath & Kim star made it clear the image was fake and was being used to swindle well-meaning supporters out of money.

'Ok. Dear peeps. This lovely lady – whoever she is – is not me. I hope she's doing well,' Magda wrote.
