But immense Hollywood success caused the 44-year-old former child star to skip over learning basic skills like driving a car or doing laundry.
‘I always say Mac is a very unique human, being the most famous child actor in the world,’ Macaulay’s fiancée Brenda Song explained on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Thursday.
‘He still doesn’t know how to drive! I took him out to drive in our neighborhood. I was terrified, let me tell you. This 44-year-old man driving for the first time? I gotta hire someone to do that.’
The Running Point star – turning 37 this month – added: ‘He lived and grew up in hotels, he had just never really done laundry, and I was shooketh…I’ve been doing laundry since I was 10 helping my mom. It’s funny, teaching him how to do laundry.’
Brenda originally met Macaulay through a mutual friend around 2014 before reconnecting in 2017 on the Thailand set of Seth Green’s feature directorial debut, Changeland.

On April 5, Song and Culkin will celebrate the fourth birthday of their son Dakota Song Culkin, who was named after his sister who died – age 29 – in 2008 after being struck by a car.
The Cali native and the New York native – who got engaged in January 2022 – are also proud parents of two-year-old son Carson Song Culkin.
‘When I was a child actor many, many moons ago, 30 years ago, I think it’s so different in this day and age when it comes to social media and things like that,’ Brenda told People on February 27.
‘For me, my boys can do whatever they want to do. I just want them to go to school and enjoy their anonymity while they can because they didn’t ask for me and [Macaulay] to be their parents. So I want them to be able to make that choice on their own.’
Macaulay was previously married to his Professional Children’s School sweetheart Rachel Miner for less than two years ending 2002, and he also dated Family Guy star Mila Kunis for eight years ending 2011.
Song was previously engaged to Miley Cyrus’ heavily-tattooed half-brother Trace, but they split in 2012 after an eight-month romance.
The Last Showgirl actress has been hard at work promoting her role as Waves chief-of-staff Ali Lee in Mindy Kaling’s 10-episode basketball comedy, which premiered February 27.
The critically-acclaimed sporty show – set in the unpredictable, male-dominated world of sports – also featured Culkin’s cameo as an ‘angry fan’ in the ninth episode titled ‘The Playoffs.’
Last Thursday, producer-star Kate Hudson announced Netflix had Running Point renewed for a second season.
