Louis Walsh has revealed a Hollywood A-lister auditioned for Boyzone but he turned him down because he couldn’t sing.
In Wednesday’s upcoming episode of Celebrity Big Brother, the music mogul, 71, talked with Colson Smith and Fern Britton about the rise of the 90s boyband and how he found Shane Lynch, Stephen Gately, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Ronan Keating.
Sitting in the kitchen with Colson and Fern, Louis revealed he is good friends with the Irish actor, Colin Farrell, 47.
He said: ‘I know him very well as he auditioned for Boyzone and he told me he wanted to be an actor, I knew him from Dublin.’
Fern asked: ‘And now he has an Oscar, doesn’t he?’

Louis said of his audition: ‘I said “you can’t sing, I can’t give you the gig” because I knew him very well. And he said to me “oh I wanna be an actor” and I said “you’re wasting your f***ing time”.’
‘He went and he worked, no no, he worked it’.
Despite the Boyzone setback, Colin found success following his role in the BBC drama Ballykissangel in 1998.
He made his film debut in the drama The War Zone (1999).
His first lead role was in the war drama Tigerland in 2000. He made his breakthrough in Steven Spielberg’s science fiction film Minority Report (2002).
Colin earned critical acclaim in Martin McDonagh’s comedy In Bruges in 2008 and won a Golden Globe for his role as rookie hitman Ray.
He won another Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination for The Banshees of Inisherin.
Commenting on Colin’s acting credits, Colson said: ‘He’s amazing’, while Fern added: ‘And he’s very cool’.
Boyzone, meanwhile, were formed in 1993 and have had six number one singles and seven albums.
The group split in 1999. Boyzone made a comeback in 2007, originally with the intention of just touring.

Boyzone, meanwhile, were formed in 1993 and have had six number one singles and seven albums. They split in 2019 after their 25th anniversary
Stephen died on 10 October 2009 of a heart defect while on holiday in Majorca.
Boyzone went on tour in late 2018 to celebrate their 25th anniversary and released an album to celebrate.
In April of that year, it was announced the band would split after their anniversary celebrations, which ended in 2019.
