Frank Lampard has admitted his wife Christine keeps him on a ‘tight leash’ as they appeared together on Thursday’s episode of Loose Women.

The football manager, 45, appeared on the show via video link to discuss Soccer Aid alongside actor Martin Compston.

During the chat, Denise Welch told Frank the hosts would be doing a Find Your Phone segment later in the show and jokingly warned: ‘Just be careful you stay where you are and good luck.’

Frank laughed and replied: ‘I am fully aware that Christine knows where I am at all times. And if she doesn’t for like five minutes, I get a call saying: ‘What are you doing?’ I’m a good boy. I’m on a tight leash.’

Christine laughed and said: ‘That works both ways!’ as the audience laughed.

Given Frank will have his hands full with Soccer Aid for the rest of the week, she said: ‘Who’s going to take my bins out this week, that’s the big question.’

Frank joked: ‘That’s a good question, maybe you can Christine?’

‘That’s not my job!’ Christine laughed as Denise added: ‘That’s a blue job.’

Soccer Aid returns once more on Sunday June 9 with a host of celebrities and former professional footballers taking part.

The charity match, which has raised over £90million for Unicef since its inception in 2006, will be played at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 2019.

The interview comes after Christine previously claimed that she had children to stop other people asking when she was going to start a family.

She said during an appearance on Loose Women: ‘I had children to stop people asking me when I was going to have them. I’m glad I’ve had them. It’s because everyone assumes you have to be.

‘My biggest ambition in life was to be self sufficient, look after my mum and dad. It sounds very basic but that’s what drove me.

‘I wanted to be able to look after myself. I got my first job and 15. I worked through school and uni.’

Christine is stepmother to Luna, 18, and Isla, 16, from Frank’s previous relationship with Spanish model Elen Rives.

Frank is currently managing Chelsea FC and his tenure has been wrought with criticism from fans and foes alike.

He is unfortunately unlikely to be follow in the legendary managerial footsteps of his uncle, Harry Redknapp.
