The shock jock, 54, slammed Jackie, 51, on Friday, accusing her of letting a 'fixation' with astrology distract her from work.
An emotional Jackie said she was deeply 'offended' by his brutal comments, with Kyle now saying on Wednesday that he wishes he handled things differently.
'I obviously upset her. Maybe, in hindsight, I shouldn't have said it on the air. But we say a lot of things on the air here,' he said on The Kyle & Jackie O Show.
'It was never meant to hurt her feelings and obviously it did. I regret hurting her feelings. No one wants to hurt someone. Especially someone you care for.
'I don't really know. The show is just ploughing ahead anyway. I'm just leaving this up to management.'

Kyle went on to say he just wanted to be back on the air with everyone happy, adding: 'I want her to be happy and enjoy it. I also want the same thing.'
He then joked he didn't care if any of the other producers or staff members were happy because he would 'swap them all out in a heartbeat' for Jackie.

'I got a bit of a blasting from my wife... She's being supportive but she's also very honest with me,' Kyle explained.
'She goes, "Well, from time to time, you do say things at home that don't land well either." As we all do... She's right.'

Earlier in the segment, Kyle also took a swipe at critics who believe his on-air fight with Jackie was just a publicity stunt to attract more listeners.
'Everyone who is writing or saying that has no idea about the show. No understanding about it... They don't know us,' he said.
'Even these so-called "radio experts" think it's all made up. That shows how off-kilter these people are.'

The fracas, which kicked off over Jackie's 'fixation' with astrology, caused a rift in their long-standing radio partnership, with Jackie taking a leave of absence.
Kyle briefly addressed the issue on Tuesday, he missed the radio queen.
'She'll be gone for the week, I'm told,' Kyle said. 'That's what I heard yesterday.'
It seemed Kyle's heart had softened over the weekend, with the radio star adding: 'So, yeah. I'm looking forward to her return.'

The pair were discussing the latest developments regarding former Prince Andrew when Jackie proceeded to read out the disgraced royal's birth chart.
Kyle then proceeded to lambast his co-star, claiming that her love for astrology was affecting her work.
When Jackie attempted to defend herself and accused him of launching an attack on her, he stated he was only expressing 'facts'.
