The much-hyped possibility of axed KIIS FM host and former Today show host joining forces has been officially put to bed.

The media heavyweights sent the rumour mill ablaze last month when two domain names – KyleandKarl.com.au and KarlandKyle.com.au – were registered in June 2026 by Kyle's company, King Kyle Group Pty Ltd.

Fans began speculating the long-time friends – who were both axed from their respective high-profile media jobs in recent months – could be preparing to launch a new project together.

However, it turns out the move was nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Kyle's long-time manager and business partner Bruno Bouchet addressed the rumours during an appearance on the Game Changers podcast, revealing there was never a plan for a Kyle and Karl show.

When asked whether the domains were registered simply for 'clickbait and s**t stirring', Bouchet admitted that was exactly the case.

'Yeah, absolutely. There was nothing to it,' he said.

Bouchet explained that he registered the domains in the middle of a conversation with a journalist who was asking him about the possibility of the pair teaming up.

'I had a journo calling me like, 'What do you think about Karl and Kyle?' And while I was talking to this journo, I registered both domains, and it was the best $7 I spent.'

While the stunt successfully fuelled speculation, Bouchet said he never believed a daily Kyle and Karl show would necessarily work.

'Like if you were listening to it, what's unique about the chemistry?' he questioned.

'Two rich white guys talking to one another who are of similar age (and) experience? That isn't having a go at either of them, but with any partnership, you try to figure out what the secret sauce is.'

He said the key question for any successful partnership was what the audience would get that they could not get elsewhere.

'What is the output that is going to be unique?'

Instead, Kyle is now focused on launching his own solo venture, Kyle Sandilands Live, his first major broadcasting project outside of ARN

Meanwhile, Stefanovic remains focused on his controversial podcast, The Karl Stefanovic Show, having recently interviewed Piers Morgan, Tommy Robinson and Holly Valance
