Gwen Stefani and Niall Horan slammed their Steal buttons nearly simultaneously during the Knockout rounds on Monday’s episode of The Voice on NBC.
They both moved to steal Mara Justine from John Legend’s team as the third stage started on season 24 after the Battles round concluded.
‘Whoa!’ host Carson Daly, 50, yelled as Gwen, 54, and Niall, 30, pushed their buttons for Mara. ‘We got two steals right away!’
Gwen ran over to grab Niall, but he got up from his chair saying, ‘No, don’t touch me.’
‘He’s not that cute,’ Gwen said.

Gwen threw her pink coat onto Niall, which he put it on saying he ‘looked so good in pink.’
‘Mara it’s obvious that you need to come home to Team Gwen,’ Gwen said laughing.
‘He’s trying to steal artists and coats at the same time,’ John, 44, quipped.
Gwen told Mara that she could really connect with people with her singing.
‘I’m not an actress,’ Gwen said. ‘This is my real heart talking to you so I would love to have you on Team Gwen.’
‘When I think of who’s great on The Voice this season, you’re the first one that comes to mind,’ Niall said.
Mara, 21, from Galloway, New Jersey, was about to pick her coach when the show ended with a To Be Continued message for viewers.
During rehearsals John told the show’s mega mentor Wynonna Judd, 59, that all of his artists Mara, Caleb Sasser, from Los Angeles, and Kaylee Shimizu, 17, from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, had been four-chair turns.

Caleb performed first singing Jealous by Nick Jonas. Wynonna told him he was ‘quite the package’ during rehearsals. Kaylee picked a challenging Aretha Franklin song Ain’t No Way.
‘Kaylee is so freaking good it’s scary,’ Wynonna said of her in rehearsals.
‘Seventeen years old!’ Niall said after her performance.
‘It ain’t fair,’ John said.
Mara went last singing Mariah Carey’s version of Without You by Harry Nilsson. Wynonna gave her tips in rehearsal.
‘Squeeze your butt,’ Wynonna said. ‘I do that when I hit high notes.’
‘We getting gems over here,’ John said.
The judges gave her a standing ovation when she finished. Reba said she would go for Kaylee out of the three. Niall said he was also impressed by Kaylee.

‘It just blows my mind what I just saw,’ Gwen said.
Gwen said she was leaning toward Mara. John ultimately picked Kaylee as the winner.
‘Kaylee is one of the most gifted vocalists I’ve ever been around,’ John said. ‘She’s 17 years old. She can do so many amazing things with her voice.’
Mara was saying her goodbye to John when Gwen and Niall both pushed their buttons to Steal her and Mara fell to the ground.
The two-hour show opened with the Battle round continuing with Niall teammates Huntley, 33, from Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Brailey Lenderman, 33, from Nashville, kicking off the episode singing a duet to the Hootie & The Blowfish song Hold My Hand.
‘I was not expecting that,’ Gwen said as they finished. ‘That was amazing!’
Gwen said she would go with Huntley.
‘I’m worried that you might win the show,’ Gwen said.

Niall picked Huntley as the winner of the battle.
Team Reba contestants Crystal Nicole, 39, from Atlanta, and Caitlin Quisenberry, from Nashville, went next singing The Song Remembers When by Trisha Yearwood. Crystal, who wrote Only Girl (In The World) for Rihanna, said after losing her mother to cancer that it was a bittersweet blessing to be on the show.
Gwen told them they were both amazing.
‘Caitlin your tone felt like it was more at home in this song,’ John said. ‘I think think in this particular moment Caitlin won this battle just for that reason.’
‘I’m so proud of you both,’ Reba said. ‘You stood out and you complemented each other.’
Reba ultimately picked Caitlin as the winner.

‘Caitlin the way she expresses herself, she’s not only country, she’s kind of a country-pop artist, so I think it will be fun to get to pick songs for her,’ Reba said.
New coach Reba found choosing between them tough and even cried.
‘I didn’t think it would hit me that hard but it did,’ Reba said.
Team Gwen contestants Brandon Montel, 30, from Memphis, went up against Kara Tenae, 33, from Riverside, California, singing ‘Have You Ever?’ by Brandy. They both wore white and sang to each other for their soulful performance.
‘That was so good! ‘ John said. ‘It was really just a strong performance.’
‘I think I would go with Kara because I was just so fascinated with the way you handled yourself,’ Reba said.
‘You guys messed my head up,’ Gwen said. ‘That was so good.’
‘You are captivating,’ Gwen said to Kara who she ended up picking.
Brandon hugged Gwen goodbye and just when he was walking off the set, John pushed his Steal button.
‘We got a steal!’ Carson said.
‘Brandon is such a great vocalist,’ John said. ‘There’s no one that sings like him in this competition, and I had to bring Brandon to Team Legend.’

‘That was a rollercoaster,’ Brandon said.
The battle rounds ended and the competition went right into the three-way Knockouts stage where three of the artists from the same team go against each other. The judges also had a Save and Steal to use and the contestants got to pick their own songs.
Reba told said it was great that Wynonna joined the the show because she had so much experience to share after performing for more than 40 years.
‘It was really important to be here because Reba is like family,’ Wynonna said. ‘I needed this to connect with the next generation of greatness so they get the wisdom that I got from Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and so I’m passing it on.’
Reba’s contestant Jacquie Roar, 37, from North Plains, Oregon, went first singing Girl by Maren Morris, which she dedicated to her six-year-old daughter.
‘I love me some Jacquie,’ Wynonna said.
Alison Albrecht, 23 from Novi, Michigan, sang It’s Too Late by Carole King and Reba encouraged her to lean into the storytelling side of the song.
Alison asked Wynonna for tips for staying in the business long term.
‘Surround yourself with good people,’ Wynonna said. ‘Jesus had 12 followers, and he was Jesus. He had it all. And save your money, sister, cause if you don’t, I’ve blown it twice, wrote a book about how to lose everything. Because I’m an artist, I’m the heart. Mom was the head, and I was so naive and still am. I’m so gullible.’
Tom Nitti, 31, from Hartford, New York, sang I’m Losing You by The Temptations. Wynonna told him to ditch the microphone stand and Reba told him to poke his hat up so they could see his face.
‘All three of you were absolutely spectacular,’ Niall said after their performance.
Niall told them all they made great song choices. Gwen agreed and said she didn’t know how Reba would choose. John said he would slightly lean towards Jacquie because he thought her execution was tighter.
‘I’m just so proud of all three of you,’ Reba said. ‘No matter what happens today you don’t need to quit music, do anything else, cause the world needs to continue to hear your voices.’
Reba ultimately picked Jacquie as the winner. Tom was saying his goodbyes when Reba pressed her Save button to keep him. Gwen then pushed her button to Steal him.
‘Sorry, Reba,’ Gwen said.

‘I have to go with Reba because she had faith in me from day one,’ Tom said.
The Voice will return Tuesday on NBC.
Season 23 was won by Niall’s singer Gina Miles, 19.
