' ex-husband has now broken his silence after the pop icon was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told TMZ his client 'hopes' Spears will be receptive to receiving help - if that is what's found to be in her best interest.
'Kevin hopes for the best for Britney and if help is necessary, he hopes that she will neither resist it or those who are attempting to work with her,' Kaplan told the outlet.
Kaplan and Federline, 47, have been in communication since Spears, 44, was arrested but are unaware of any other details about the legal drama
Yet Federline does have his fears: 'The concern is whether this is just a one off or a one more,' Kaplan said.
Spears and Federline were married in 2004 after three months of dating, and they divorced in 2007.

Last year Federline detailed what allegedly occurred during and after their relationship with a tell-all, You Thought You Knew - a book that was slammed by Spears as having 'white lies.'
Spears was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol on Wednesday, following a tense highway pursuit captured in a chilling 911 dispatch recording.
She was later released and is scheduled to appear in court on May 4.
The singer had reportedly fired her sobriety coach just weeks earlier, while police were also called to her home a staggering 14 times over the past two years.
