Kesha is expressing her voice on a whole new platform this year.
The Grammy nominee announced Friday on X that she’s making her TED Talk debut with The Alchemy of Pop at the TED2024 Conference in Vancouver.
‘I first had the idea come to me this January when on a sociatial sabbatical in the woods of Big Sur at the Esalen Institute,’ she started.
‘I realized that making pop songs has saved me, over and over again,’ added Kesha.
‘It had made my spiritual connection stronger, provided a place I could express myself in the most authentic way, and connected me to every corner of the world.’

‘Well, I’d spent three years on and off with Rick Rubin, and I felt like I learned so much from him when I was making my last album,’ she told V Magazine at the time.
‘I felt that my own personal stuff could be set aside. I planned this trip immediately. My love and lust for life, and specifically for music—and the art and the magic of music—started coming to me so quickly, that I couldn’t consume it fast enough.’
‘And so I had to figure out exactly what I wanted to teach, but I realized that having someone help me process my emotions in such a beautiful way on that last album, well, I wanted to help other people process their emotions too, and give them a tool that could be helpful,’ added Kesha.
She released her fifth studio album Gag Order last year, marking her final release under RCA and Kemosabe Records, both of which she signed with at 18.
On the album, Kesha explored the trauma and depression she suffered from her legal battle with former producer Dr. Luke.
Kesha first sued Dr. Luke in October 2014, accusing him of sexual assault and battery, gender violence, emotional abuse and violation of California business practices.
At the time, she filed a preliminary injunction to be released from Kemosabe Records.

‘Only God knows what happened that night as I have always said,’ she said in a statement at the time.
‘I cannot recount everything that happened. I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning a new one.’
‘I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved,’ added Kesha.
