Kelly Clarkson revealed that she won’t let her children use social media until they turn 18.
The 41-year-old singer admitted that is the one strict rule she has for her nine-year-old daughter River Rose and seven-year-old son Remington Alexander as a mother.
In an interview with People published on Saturday, she explained that her reasoning is because social media can be detrimental to children, especially ones with famous parents.
The Stronger hitmaker — who shares her two kids with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, 47 — told the outlet: ‘That can be really hard on kids in general but especially kids with parents in the public eye.’
For that reason, she said, ‘So I have informed them they’re not allowed to, under my room, ever have [it].’

Clarkson is currently co-parenting with Blackstock and recalled her daughter River asking about his opinion on letting them use social media.
She and the talent exec were married for nearly seven years before she filed for divorce in June 2020, which was finalized in 2022.
‘My daughter was like, “Well, what if Dad lets me?”‘
In response, she said: ‘I’m like, “Well, you’re there four days a month. Enjoy that.”‘
As for ‘right now’, Clarkson said she and her ex are on the same page and revealed ‘he’s not letting them do it either’.
However, she added that she could possibly be swayed on her decision in the future.
‘I’ll listen when they’re older, but until they have a solid argument, it’s a no,’ she said.
On co-parenting with an ex, Clarkson admitted that it’s ‘so different [for everyone]’ and that ‘it’s harder at first’.

In the beginning, ‘there’s so much emotion and trauma involved’, she said before adding that as time passes, ‘the easier it gets’.
‘It’s hard enough when you’re married and come from two different backgrounds and ways to discipline and education,’ she explained. ‘Doing that in different households can be tough.’
When her divorce with Blackstock was finalized, Clarkson packed up and relocated her family and her talk show from Los Angeles to New York City.
She said that being a single mom, she ‘can be hard on myself, but I think I do a pretty good job’.
‘I’m definitely not a helicopter mom,’ she added before noting that she always tries to make time for her children amid her busy schedule.
‘I like that they’re independent,’ she said of her young children. ‘But I’m adamant about my schedule, making sure I’m there as much as I can be.
‘There’s no perfect parent — I’m definitely screwing up my children somehow! — but I’m doing my best.’
