Australian ravers have been left in a rage after a sold out show at Sydney’s Qudos Arena on Saturday left ticket holders unable to access the main stage area.
Ravers posted to TikTok on Saturday to vent their frustration after lining up for two hours to re-enter the Gearbox Australia show, which featuring a line-up of popular DJs, after leaving the floor for a toilet break.
Videos loaded to the platform show large numbers of patrons crowded outside the general admission area (GA) on the lower ground floor of the arena.
‘Gearbox Australia biggest let down,’ posted Tik Tokker William, who attended the event, adding, ‘waited two hours to get back on the floor. Disappointing.’
Elsewhere on the thread, ‘William’ claimed that the general admission area was crammed with VIPs.
‘Some people bought $400 VIP tickets,’ they said.

They included a video of what appeared to be hundreds of patrons yelling and protesting in the foyer outside the entrance doors to the general admission floor.
However, some patrons who posted of their experience of the show blamed other patrons for the confusion.
‘You should all redirect your anger to the people with level 1 tickets that hopped down to unreserved seating and the floor,’ one event goer posted.
A third event goer pointed a finger at the promoters for the apparent confusion over access.
‘Disgusting organisation. Staff were horrible and rude we were yelled at and pushed around all night by staff and security,’ they said.
Meanwhile, another Gearbox Australia patron Olivia posted a video to TikTok showing an enormous crowd lined up to enter the GA.
Adding the caption ‘let us in’, the raver made the comment, ‘You leave to go to the bathroom only to never go back to the floor.’
The TikTokker later explained that patrons were confused about which door to use to re-enter.

‘I have a feeling that some people who had seated tickets ended up with GA wristbands,’ they posted.
‘Yes,’ agreed another eye witness to the event, ‘we were level 1 and lined up two hours in the wrong line.’
Some patrons on the thread threw their support behind Gearbox Australia.
‘Absolutely gutted for Gearbox they were let down so hard by the venue and management,’ they said.
Meanwhile, other patrons shared that event goers were prevented from re-entering the GA because security had determined that it was ‘full’.
According to the Gearbox Australia website doors opened at 3pm and no ticket holders would be allowed into the show after 9.30 pm.
It also said that there was a ‘no re-entry’ policy to the show.
Ticket holders were also advised,’GA Standing & Unreserved Seating tickets have access to the standing floor section and ground level unreserved seating section only, no access to level 1 of the Arena.
‘Level 1 GA Unreserved Seating tickets are restricted to Level 1 of the Arena and will have no access to the standing floor section and ground level unreserved seating.’
Artists performing at the event include rave acts Adjuzt, Mutilator, and Fraw.
