Darius Rucker’s former girlfriend, comedian Kate Quigley had little sympathy when she shared her first thoughts after learning of the musician’s arrest on drug charges.
The Canton, Ohio native slammed the Hootie & the Blowfish frontman on X (formerly known as Twitter) after he was taken into custody in Tennessee.
‘Yes. I’ve heard. All I can say is Karma,’ Quigley, 42, posted Thursday evening in a reaction to all the comments mounting since the incident went public.
Never one to mince her words when it comes to Rucker since her near-death overdose, in which three others died, Quigley would also take to her Instagram page and share a photo of herself sticking her tongue out while smiling.
‘#Mood: when u hear your d-bag ex got arrested… #karma,’ she wrote in the caption, all while she could be seen laying back in an aqua blue bikini with black trim.

Page Six confirmed Rucker, 57, was arrested on Thursday in Williamson County, Tennessee where he currently lives.
Police booked the musician on three misdemeanor charges, which includes two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and one count of a violation of the state’s vehicle registration law.
TMZ has been reporting that the Charleston, North Carolina native is also accused of driving with an expired registration tag.
The singer-songwriter ‘is fully cooperating with authorities,’ his lawyer told the publication, which were first to break the news of his arrest.
Rucker was transported to a jail facility at 10 a.m. PT Thursday and eventually bonded out and released at around 11 a.m., after posting $10,500 bail, as reported by WZTV.
The bitter taste Quigley has for her former mate stems from when he made some comments about her after she had been hospitalized in critical condition following a nearly-fatal overdose that took the lives of three other people.
In the September 4, 2021 incident, comedians Fuquan Johnson and Enrico Colangeli and a woman Natalie Williamson died after consuming what authorities said was cocaine laced with fentanyl at a home near Venice Beach, California.
Following the incident, Rucker appeared on the red carpet at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas and told People that Quigley was ‘doing okay’ and ‘coming out of that.’
Quigley confirmed she had heard of Rucker’s arrest in a tweet on X (formerly known as Twitter) and then took a jab at home by writing, ‘All I can say is Karma’
The comedian also took to Instagram and shared a photo of herself sticking her tongue out and smiling, writing, ‘Mood when u hear your d-bag ex got arrested’

Quigley slammed Rucker for commenting publicly on the incident without bothering to call her and see how she was doing.
The Comedy Store headliner, who has since gone on to describe the deadly incident in detail, said in a September 11, 2021 tweet, ‘Hi Darius, Could u plz refrain from making public comments about my health or well-being since u haven’t called once to see how i’m doing & have no clue? Thanks Boo Boo!!!’
In another tweet, Quigley said that it ‘stung’ when she heard Rucker had made the public remarks without seeing how she was doing. The comedian added: ‘He’s probably writing a song about me called, Let Her Die.’
Rucker began dating the comedian following his split from wife Beth Leonard in July of 2020 after two decades of marriage.

Rucker is father to three children: He is father to daughter Carolyn, 28, with ex Elizabeth Ann Phillips; and to daughter Daniella, 22, and son Jack, 19, with ex-wife Beth.

Rucker, who has reinvented himself as a country singer in recent years, spoke candidly about his past experience with substance abuse in a May 2013 interview with the Los Angeles Times.
‘Doing drugs and drinking every night – I’ve done that,’ he told the newspaper at the time. ‘Trust me, I’ve done enough for everybody. And it’s just not how I want to live anymore.’
Rucker’s longtime band, Hootie & the Blowfish, is set to return to the road this summer for the Summer Cap And Trucks Tour that will take them to 43 cities across the U.S. and Canada.
This will be the first full tour since 2019 for the Grammy-winning band that has sold more than 25 million studio albums during their career.
