Love Island winner has quit his teaching job just weeks after launching a new business with his wife Sanam.

Kai and Sanam, both 28, met on the hit show in March 2023 in the infamous Casa Amor, and came out as the winning couple.

Despite the pair taking home the £50K cash prize, they didn't let the win completely uproot their lives.

Kai went back to his profession as a teacher, while Sanam continued her career as a social worker.

But that all changed on Wednesday, as Kai took to Instagram to announce his departure from teaching.

Speaking in a clip shared with his followers, he said: 'I've actually stopped teaching, and this is the honest reason why.

'Now it wasn't an easy decision, and teaching has been a massive part of who I am for many years.

'Ever since Love Island, most of you have known me as a teacher, and despite what some of you may think, I even went back into teaching after the show because of how much I enjoy and love the career

'And how passionate I am about it. But this year I made the decision to step away. Not because I stopped loving teaching, but because I wanted to challenge myself in a different way.

'Health and fitness has been another huge passion of mine. I studied sport and exercise science and human nutrition at university, and it's something I've always wanted to pursue.

'So me and my wife, we opened our own gym, as some of you may know, and I now run it full time.

'So as much as I'd love to carry on teaching as well, I realised I just couldn't give 100% to it, and something had to go.

'So this isn't a goodbye forever to teaching. I'll always be the biggest advocate for education and have nothing but respect for anybody in the profession

'But right now this is about backing myself and embracing a new challenge and also seeing what's possible

'So I hope you all come along on this journey and see the next chapter and support it just as much as you support the first one.

'So yeah, here's to new beginnings.'

Since meeting on Love Island, they went on to tie the knot in August 2025

Kai and Sanam launched their new fitness facility, Fagan's Fitness, in Milton Keynes earlier this month.

According to a registration form the 'gym aims to help people to fall in love with fitness through either of our signature classes, six-week results training programme or one-to-one personal training available Monday-Saturday, all whilst building friendships and being professionally guided.'

The couple announced on May 24 that they were launching a new business and have been posting clues and teasers about it on their social media channels.

They finally revealed on June 19 they were launching a fitness facility in an Instagram video, which included a preview of the studio.

'We are so excited to announce we have created Fagan’s Fitness, a fitness facility located in Pineham Farm, Milton Keynes,' they penned.

Kai and Sanam tied the knot in a picture-perfect £39K wedding in Essex in August last year.

Despite shooting to fame on Love Island, they revealed that they only invited one fellow Islander to their lavish wedding, which was Ron Hall.

During an interview with the Mirror, Kai said: 'We just don't have friends from the show like that. That's just how life goes.'

Sanam added: 'We only had 60 guests. Looking around, we realised every single person there had a genuine, close relationship with us. That never happens in real life – everyone in the same room, at the same time'.

Speaking about the emotional speeches on the day, Kai said: 'You never realise how much people care until they stand up and say it out loud. It really hit me how much love was in that room'.
